Visit the rules page for changes and the new target:

Shooting Competition Week 2

The target is a bit easier to hit- maybe this will bring in a few more people and won't embarrass anyone too soon (like me- Very Happy ).

Good luck to everyone!

10 pumps? Do you need maximum power to shoot the PowerMaster 66 at 20m/64ft?

Nobody came close to 30 minutes on the last shoot for 30 shots- so speeding it up (with a much bigger target) seemed about the only way to make it a bit more challenging. Give it a try- you might surprise yourself!

I had some time this afternoon- so I completed the shoot.

This time I actually sighted the gun in reasonably. Except for 3 or 4 strays- this shoot is all my own (in-)ability! Very Happy

-68ºF
-steady 5km breeze w/sporadic 20km/h gusts across shooting range
-60% R.H.
start time: 16:22, end time: 16:34, total 12 minutes

Crosman Quest with 4x32scope using .177 Crosman Premier Hollow Points (ran out of .177 Wadcutters the other day).

Score: 217 out of 250.

Thats pretty good Eric, I think I'll try a rifle this week, but I will probably use the up market colour target. Laughing

It does look prettier. Laughing Plus I think you scored 219?

My entry for week 2
Airgun = Umarex Winchester 94
Cal= .177
Pellet= Bisley Target Pratice
Sight= Peep sight
Temperature= 20c
Wind= Nill
Time= 11-30 to 11-38

Score= 227

I'm quite pleased with this result considering I had the wife chatting in my ear about a new carpet, at one time I nearly had a choice of targets, luckily for the wife I chose this one. Yak Yak Yak

Uh oh:

I know how you thought '219' on my score- there are two holes which were very close to the borders- I chose to call them on the lower point value as it was hard to tell if the pellet actually hit the line, or just ripped the paper enough to make it look that way. So, 217 or 219? Doesn't matter if you have 227! Mr. Green

Hello weekly- you've been online for awhile- so welcome to your first post!

The idea is that this competition is from an unsupported, standing, off-hand position. Sitting is probably close enough if you're not using anything else to support the gun. Someone may have to correct me here- but I don't think it's a big deal, especially so if someone has a requirement to go this way- like a broken leg or the like.

The next competition I think we will definitely go with a "rest" of some sort- i.e. bipod, sandbag, etc. but probably use a much smaller target as well.

In the "Field Target Position" you sit with your knees up and rest you elbows on them. Not really off hand shooting.
