There seems to have been an abundance of Crosman 140 posts lately so I thought I would add mine to the mix.
I won this one in an online auction along with a 766. The 140 was a bonus because what I wanted was the 766.
The 140 was complete but not shooting.

The front sight was a little bent, but easily straightened.

This 140 is a later version with the better trigger. The safety lever has been removed and put in backwards, the lever should be on the right side.

This rifle must have sat for quite a few years, long enough for the check valve spring to rust away. The exhaust valve is stuck tight. Luckily I have some spare parts in my stash.

I had a spare pump seal to replace the rock hard seal that was in it. I replaced all the o-rings, some clean up and lube and it's a shooter again. These old pumpers are amazing, a little TLC and some time and you have a shooter.

Very nice result there. The Crosman 140 is one of the best rifles made by Crosman, though I like the older style trigger better.

The only better Crosman that I know of is the 101, and the 101 is my primary rifle.

The 101 is my all time favorite also, any of the older wood and metal pumpers rate pretty high with me.
