I got back into air gunning several months ago after many years of not. I've visited many forums on airgunning, and I am just checking this one out.
I made the typical mistake most returning or new modern airgunners make and bought a powerful new technology springer thinking because it cost more than the pump guns I grew up on it must be "better." It s*&^$. After months of tweaking and adjusting and learning HOW TO shoot all over again it shoots almost as good as my old Daisy pumper.
My experience with springers convinced me that PCPs were the answer. I'm into PCPs now. I've regulated a Marauder and it worked out ok. I've got a Bam-50 (Flying Dragon Xisico XS-B50) that I can shoot modestly well offhand. After my experience with the regulator on the Marauder I decided I want to regulate the XS-B50 too. I'm not going to buy a regulator for it though. I'm going to try and build one. I found a couple decent videos on Youtube like this one, and I think I can do it.

I don't see me making and selling them, but I've got a couple small lathes, and a couple small mills, and a couple mid size CNC mills that I use for making fishing lure molds. I think I can cobble together one that will work. Of course like every wannabe know it all I have some design changes I want to try too. I talked with Mike over at Flying Dragon about the project and he is sending me a spare air tube at a decent price that I can use for making a testing assembly. Thanks Mike.
Ultimately I want to make atleast one PCP from the ground up, and I really would like to see if I can build a useful air shotgun at some point. I bought Buckely's books on making PCPs and they are interesting reading. The plans book I sat down and read in one sitting, and looked through all the plans. The other book I am still wading through.
So anybody want to buy a Hatsan 155 or an NP Trail? |

Welcome to the forum!
I had no idea anyone was still selling the B-50's as Xisico has stopped manufacturing them at this point. Learn something new every day... |

I think Mike went over to the US distribution warehouse and bought everyone they had left. He also found a box of .22 barrels and receivers for them. I don't know if he has any left, but he did a couple weeks ago. |

For clarification the B50 is made by BAM. Xisico is no longer buying them from BAM to import. They may still be available for another importer if they want to buy them. Xisico claims to have their own manufacturing facility now. There are rumors that they are working on a new PCP, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. |

BAM is/was the manufacturer of the B50/B51- as well as most of the Xisico products sold in the past.
BAM does not deal with any other "importers" in North America- they are basically an OEM company, making products for Crosman, Umarex, SMK in the UK, and Xisico out of Texas, basically, if someone doesn't want a minimum of a couple thousand units, they have no interest in talking to you. That being said, if one of the existing importers wanted to pick up the B50 and relabel it (i.e. the "Umarex B50" or such) then they might reappear, otherwise it's effectively dead in North America.
Xisico has been claiming to have their own factory for 2-3 years now, but thus far only seems to have produced the XS-60C. |
