Does anybody know if they migrate? My hunting area has went downhill big time in the last couple of weeks. Even my cat food bait is not working. I'm getting bored sitting out there waiting. I hope I didn't do what I did at my old house and cleaned them all out. It went from 20 at my bait station to none in about 3 months. I have about a half square mile of neighborhood to cover so I didn't figure I would kill them all that quick. Oh BTW dry cat food works great as starling bait. There is no season on them here in indiana so I can shoot as many as I want whenever I want. Please help on the migrating thing! |

Can't say if they migrate- I know around here they are the first birds to appear in the spring- so I am thinking they don't.
Maybe you shot a few too many and now they are hiding! |

Well, I have shot 42, but that's an area that is 1/2 mile by 1 mile! I can't have killed off that many! At least I hope not. It gets me around talking to the neighbors. lol |

they migrate . but if you killed a lot they don't come back to that area for a few years. about a mile from my house they are thick. it used to be that way here but after killing a bunch of them, they fly over my house n never lite in a tree now. there is a pond behind my house that they used to stop at . but I started shootin there and now the pond don't attract them anymore either |

I get the impression they are very smart!! I killed 14 in the first week I was home from Peru, and they have just about vacated. They can definitely recognize ME, and definitely know what guns do. I'm lucky to catch one passing through every now and then. |

They're not bad stir-fried if sauteed with mushroom gravy and garlic.
