I bought one in 1984 and have never had it serviced.

I put some chamber oil in it, let it sit for a couple of hours.

At 25 feet, it's still extremely accurate.

Am I doing any harm shooting it ?

I was told the old seals only last 5 years or so (they're 24 years old now)

Thanks

Hi Brewer
I don’t think anyone can say how long a seal will last, as it depends on the use it has and the way it is looked after, so if it is shooting ok the don’t worry about it. Although I would have thought that a new seal after 25 years would improve things.

By the way welcome to AirGunHome

Al

Thanks

I think I'm going to have it worked on after dove season.

Hi..if it woks ok & you are happy with it leave it as is.
J Maccari does 2 kits for the HW55 a std kit and a power down kit for target shooting etc. Both kits would give it a smoother fireing cycle & be more consisstant.
