Ah. That sounds like my brother. Everything that
he tries to work on fights him back.
Back when I was a auto tech we used to get new
techs in like that. It made it hard to work efficiently,
having to concentrate on the project at hand and watch
them for your own safety at the same time. We
were working flat rate, so it was noticeable in
the paycheck.

I thought molesting is any alteration from 'stock condition', ie: voided warrenty . . . |
That can be used as a definition too- but I guess my use of "molesting" is almost at the level of "molesting" your girlfriend, vs. "molesting" the neighbor's cat. Big difference there, IMO! |

Having a tuner make one 'right' voids the warrenty in most cases.
Then of course what Big Bore Bob Dean does to them is just ridiculous.
Gotta hate a 3 shot 100m group like that.
Especially at over 300ft lbs in .308"

Wow, now I'm a molestor. I get as much enjoyment out of sorting them as I do shooting them. New or used I put 5 pellets through it then take it apart. Prefer to buy used, the way they are making a lot of the new stuff In my experience warranties can be more hassle than they are worth. Yup, beat the guy at the pawn shop down on his price, then start molesting

Hello Dave- noticed you signed up awhile ago- nice to see you post something!
Yup- we have a lot of "molesters" here. Hopefully everyone at AGH is a bit more knowledgeable than Chester sitting in his living room with no "improvements" in mind for his gun other than a stack of pennies and a hacksaw. |

SO I am a molester.
I have to confess.
I put 6 grease-up pennies in the piston of my Hatsan 60
not for more fps but to fill up the space of a spring that was cut too short by the maker.
I could see the spring going going back and forward by 1 cm.
But I waited a year to do that so that I would not void the warranty . |

I don't know how you managed to leave it for a year Rene, it would have drove me crackers.

Out of the 35 rifles and 9 pistols I own half of them were purchased used.Mostly out of production guns,or tuned by someone who knows what there doing. So far I haven't got burned on any of the used, tuned guns.
The last tuned gun was a RWS 48 .22 tuned by JM.I didn't even need to open her up to tell the job was done right. It is powerful, super smooth and about as accurate as they come.I picked it up for $175 shipped! You can't beat that.
But as a tuner and player myself it really does not matter to me as long as someone is honest when selling. If I was told they used a dremel tool on the transferport and hammered a new choke on a chopped barrel or did some other modifications that could not be reversed I would stay away from it.
But good deals can be had buying a second hand gun.
Have you guy's noticed all the RWS 350 Mags for sale latley??Cheap too!!
This is IMO is a perfect example of a beginner buying a magnum springer and after 50 shots and a broken scope and so much recoil they hate it.
Theres one for sale right now for $250 less than 50 shots fired thru it.I would grab it but its a .177,and if I'm going to have a Magnum I like it in .22
Shoot safe
