I don't care much for warranty, because I'm not a rifle molester (except on the 850 stock, I blame the paint). I like molesting air guns new or second hand, the only airgun I have unmolested is my Webley pistol, I can't imagine waiting for a year for the warranty running out before you can rip a gun apart, that's half the fun of anything new, seeing how it works. And J as just sorted the BB side out. As such- I would still consider buying a used airgun- but only if there are some assurances that it hasn't been molested by someone of little airgun knowledge, mechanical aptitude or basic common sense. _________________ ` I'd say "I care." How does one molest a gun. It sounds like something that would hurt. I had a guy once ask me if I was going to pimp out my Condor. I told him no, I, don't even have sex with it. It's out of production so the only way I could get it was used. I also bought a "reconditioned" Walther NightHawk. But that means I do buy used guns, but not often. I note that from "commerical outlets" the used guns are usually not much less expensive than new ones. I got the .22 in a trade from someone I didn't know, and it worked out ok. You get some of the best deals on guns that way for hardly used or fixer uppers that are well worth the investment. I bought a great 95% grade Career III 300 in .22 caliber for $100 less than new and only needed to refinish the stock and it looks like new. Bought a Crooked Barn 1740 10" pistol for less than $40 new that was hardly used. There are great deals if you look and you don't have to very hard at times. Molest a gun in my experience has meant "amateur power hour"- putting multiple springs in it to increase power, adding rolled-up coins to increase spring spacing, removing safety-related devices like the safety or anti-beartrap levers, etc. because the person apparently lost parts or couldn't figure out how to get them back on, etc. etc. _________________ ` I'd say "I care."
