| Got a link? I'm unfamiliar with the "B2-245"? People around here own B2-A's (or B2-1's) and B2-B's (or B2-2's). |

Hey there Amigo,,,If I were you I'd get the .22 version of this gun,
http://www.southsummit.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3895
I bought one last year from "South Summit", and I just recently purchased a QB-57 .22(which is a great shooter as well),,anyway's, the gun's a great shooter, when I got mine last year it was a great gun right out of the box, the stock was beautiful, lot's of power(550fps w/ lead, and 680fps w/ Skenco Lead Free), very, very accurate, and it's also a light gun, you won't get a backache carrying it in the field all day. The one, and only drawback I found was that there was some exposed wood(namely under the butt-plate), so if you purchase one, check for that, and if its bare, seal it as soon as you can, or the stock will check in humid weather.
Here's a pic of mine( i re-did the stock in a bed-liner finish,, a little more durable for the bush)
I highly recommend "South Summit", One of the only retailer's I know of that actually charge's what they should be charging(other than Eric of course ), anyway's,,If you want any more info,,just ask, Cheer's, Andy. |

You get what you see. Machine striping for instance. Unfinished finish, a trigger that feels like spongebob squarepants and low power. I bet they didn't even tune it down in Canada, because they hardly ever confirm to the given power output out of the box, from what I've seen, and recently experienced.
But off course, to tinker with you can't go wrong with one. |

Ah- I see- the B2-245 is a B2-A with a synthetic (plastic) stock!
They are, for all intents and purposes- a cheap project gun. I believe BBGunBob has a post around here somewhere on his tune and refinish job of a B2- search for it- the mechanics of it and this "245" are exactly the same. |

Anyone have an idea of what the cocking effort is,
in pounds/kilos?
I was wondering if my 10 year old daughter would
be able to charge it.

Cocking effort is not too bad, I can't give you exact #'s, but I think your daughter may have a little bit of a hard time, Is the gun for you, or her?,,If it's for the little one, then I suggest you get the B1-1 "Youth Model", she may be able to handle that gun a little easier http://www.southsummit.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2861
I can personnaly attest to the durability of this gun(I've had one for over 30 yr's), and it's a great shooter, and when she outgrow's it, you can still modify the internals to satisfy an adult's need's.
Eric,,the last 2 number's on the Model's number's are to indicate the gun's caliber, and as far as plastic stock's on these gun's the only one in the BAM line-up is the XS-B9-1, While there is a line-up w/ synthetic stock's ,They're all made by the SHAOXING SNOWPEAK AIR GUN FATORY,
Link to Shaoxing
,
I still haven't found anyone that sell's these gun's yet though,LOL, I even sent off an email to their HQ, to see who sell's them, or if I could buy a particuler model from them,, No luck, they didn't even reply to my enquiry. Anyway's, Hope this help's, Andy. |

I'ld buy one if the price was right.
I wish that they would build an inexpensive
PCP. The only Chinese PCP that I could find
costs as much as a Tallon with not even close
to the build quality. |

30 years on a chinese gun? Is it OEM or
have you modified it?
What was the price of them 30 years ago?

I kept it all original,,these gun's are solid, their built w/ gun's grade steel, and the stock's are all mostly Beechwood, and if you look after them they'll last you a lifetime ,,,Some people around here seem to think that unless you're shooting something that was made in Europe, it's not worth shooting at all, the chinese gun's used to be very roughly made, but their QC has gone up quite a bit in the last little while to rival almost anything that come's from the continent. Cheer's, Andy. |

I plan on completely disassembling them when I receive them.
Then going completely through both of them for bad/unfinished
places and a complete tune. Probably a complete strip and reblue
also.
I did this to all of my Webleys (except for the reblue, they were
not lacking in the external finish department at all). I only had the
trigger on the Gas spring Patriot massaged by Dave Slade (a true
trigger artist). Not much really needed to be done about it's
discharge cycle. It has an extremely fast lock time for a springer.
The recoil is quite harsh, but with the gas spring it is now straight
back with absolutely no twang or vibration. Best keep your eye away
from the scope though. It has blackened three eyes that got too close.
Makes a 30mm crecent shaped cut around the eye also when that happens.

I'm afraid you lost me there- are you suggesting the B2-245 is a .45 cal airgun? According to the SouthSummit website- the B2-245 is a .177 cal gun.
And while this '245' is an "Industry Brand" product- as such it is being imported by Xisico (which is the North American BAM and IB representative). While technically IB and BAM may still be different companies- look at their designs, they are crossing over each other- and using only minor model number differences to differentiate the product. Who wants to bet the IB B2-245 is using the exact same internal parts as the BAM B2-A? |
