Personally I like a clean look. Not to much extra's, like thumbholes, things sticking out (like a hangy-tank or one of those 1077 airsource adapters).
A rifle definately needs a scope. Not one of those huge sidewheels. I also like the bold action on for instance PCP's and CO2 rifles, and off course the Haenel, VZ, Mars 115 and some other of those models. (I think the VZ-47 is a thing of sheer beauty)
I hardly like the look of break barrels. Underlever meganisms also don't catch my fancy, or side levers. I don't mind owning one of them though, and shooting them is still good fun.
"Plastic" is also an almost no-go, but after getting to know one of those plastic guns a bit (and the wooden version I saw made me choke) I decided that it's the last thing I'd worry about. I still would have liked it more for the gun to be made of wood, and then painted black or something. Aw well, if I don't get used to it, a camo-print is also quite cool. |

I am not much of a fan of the "high tech" looking guns out there- i.e. like the AirForce Talon SS. More of a "classic" wood look is my preference- i.e. such as a Crosman 2260.
And I too do not like the bulkiness of most modern break-barrels. Not sure why break barrels were smaller 30 years ago- did they break more frequently as a result of putting the same amount of stress on smaller parts than a more modern unit- or are more modern break-barrels more powerful and typically require alot of framing? I dunno- but the giant forks and fat stock setup on alot of modern break barrels is just plain ugly.
Most plastics I'm not a fan of- but some guns look reasonably good in plastic- assuming they are solid colored- i.e. black, maybe with some silver or gold accents- but wood patterned plastics just don't do anything for me.
But hey- to each his own, right? |

What I look for in an Airgun is mainly simplicity and functionality.
I do prefer wood rather than plastics, Though all Alu rifles has to be my favorite (Airforce Condor).
I also dislike break barrel airguns, The main reason for this is mainly due to the fact that the barrel is not solidly fixed to the rest of the airgun, And because the barrel being such an vital part for accuracy is used to cock the airgun.
At the moment CO2 airguns are my favorite but I am Beginning to lean more towards PCP's.
Stevie
Though if we're talking about real rifles! My favorite has to be the Accuracy International Artic Warfare L96A1!!

I like my crossman 2240, but have my eye on the 1088. Nice looking, small, compact and multiple shots make this attractive vs a single (but dead accurate) bolt action of the 2240
1088

Well, for starters, I like the "natural" rifle look. This is often easily achieved by CO2 Rifles. I also like something called "stützen" as a stock for rifles. The BSA Superten is also a nice gun to my opinion. I don't really mind break barrels. I think underlevers are the worst looking rifles, in reloading, that is.
I like a match-stock the most in wood. I don't really like open air rifles a lot, like the aluminum one posted before. |

It is a Bob Dean tuned DAQ .308 connected to the tank with a microline. These pics are of us shooting the 100 yard swingers during the airgun shoot in Corbin, Ky April, 2007 |

There ya go- forget the reservoir on the gun- just attach the whole SCUBA tank and run it straight through!
Wouldn't want to try hunting like that! |

Ah.. That angle makes it a bit more obvious!! Excellent idea (As long as you don't hunt with the tank on LOL).
The first image makes it look like the "microline" links back on to the gun LOL.
One more Q:
Are you running on CO2 or O2 (Air)???
Just a Minuit, I've just spotted something else in your pic!!
What Is that Coke bottle doing on the front of your scope???
(Is it a DIY objective lens shade?)

The .308's are pretty consistant giving 4 ~ 6 shot 2" groups {sometimes smaller} at 100m with weighed slugs.
A 3 shot trophy group at 100m
A typical 10 shot ofhand group at 125m in a shifting breeze.
For 310fpe muzzle energy with a .32bc 180grain slug energy is still above 200fpe at 400m, if only there were a way to compensate for the 40+ foot trajectory . . . |

That ain't an airgun it's an Artillery piece, 310fpe long range artillery.
You don't need to go hunting with that setup, everything is in range.
