I think I'm cashing out of the airgunning hobby once and for all. I took my rifles to the shooting range this weekend and I had shooting rests, a bench, and all the things needed in order to do some good shooting. But I couldn't for the life of me sight my rifles in. You'd shoot and hit the bulls then the next shot would hit five inches low and then the next would be three inches to the left. It was a joke. Didn't matter what type of pellets I used or how still and steady the rifle was when I pulled the trigger. And this was only at 25 yards.

I then got home and sighted in at 10 yards. It appeared to do a little better. I was about an inch to the left. A while later I saw a bird out there in the exact spot the target had been sitting. It was sitting still too. I aimed a little to the right and fired. A clean miss! What a joke.

It's to the point now that its more trouble than its worth. I'm just gonna' pursue another hobby I think.

Take a break for a while and then come back to it.
Don't sell your stuff. You'll regret it big time later.

Yeah, I don't plan on selling it, but I'm going to get away from it for awhile. Just too agravating.

I'm not sure on how much you want to score, but that's what made my groupings terrible.

You guys are talking about 40-50 yards and hitting 2 inch groups. I can't even hit that at 10 yards. Part of my problem with at least one of my rifles is a nasty trigger pull. And I think that the barrel is so long that the recoil effects the path of the pellet before it exits the muzzle. That's why the crow mags are less accurate because they travel slower down the barrel due to their weight. I guess it's just a bad rifle, which is too bad because it is pretty powerful and looks real nice, but it's just not capable of any accuracy.

"Power" is never the solution to accuracy. Look at most target guns- under 550fps/5fpe. This idea of "power" being wonderful is the BS we are always complaining about- sell a crap airgun with a high power output and no one can hit the broad side of a barn with it. Makes for great, short term airgun sales- but I bet it turns alot of people off airguns real fast as a result too.

Yeah, but when you see a bird take a shot directly to its chest and then fly off, it makes you wonder if you had just a little more power, you might have downed it right there.

But obviously, if you have to trade power for accuracy then it is meaningless in the end. I just assumed that I could get more power and at least an acceptable level of accuracy out of this gun but apparently I was mistaken.

Chinese guns are notorious for accuracy issues. I've all but quit messing with chinese stuff because of the time required to get them working correctly.

That said, try some oversize pellets, like the chinese Daisy wadcutters, and see if that helps. Had a QB36-2 for a while that wouldn't even shoot a group with any other pellet. I mean 16" to 18" at 10 yards. Horrendous Evil or Very Mad

With those cheap chinese Daisy wadcutters, it would consistantly hit a dime at 50m and at 19fpe over the chrony, would bury the dime in the backstop. Shocked

Don't be confused about this answer though, I GAVE that gun away and would rather shoot a $100 Diana than even a $300 chinese anything . . . Idea

Try pushing a few different pellets slowly down the bore and see how it feels. Maybe there is a loose spot right before the muzzle thats throwing the pellets around or maybe there is a tight spot in the middle somewhere that is downsizing the pellet and causing it to rattle down the bore. Could end up being just a simple fix. Could just get a better gun and be done with it. Its always a crap shoot with the cheaper guns and I bought all 5 of my $100 guns knowing that they may suck and I'd either have to spend a lot of time on them or just write them off all together.

I think my gun is spanish, but it is of lower quality. When I first got it the thing was more accurate, but with my "new and improved scope" it seems to not be as accurate now. But I don't see how it could be the scope.

I have a tech force too and its pretty much a chinese piece of crap. I don't know guys. I'll try to sight in again to tonight and see what I can do.
