You'rei right, Slavia...it's frustrating to try to manually track a stationary sky object when the Earth (and your telescope), is moving at the rate if 15 degrees per hour, or one degree every 4 minutes.

The full moon is 1/2 degree in diameter. Without automatic tracking, it will be out of your field of view in 2 minutes!

Most of my scopes have had computerized locating and tracking, which makes using them very convenient!

This is a 12" Meade LX200 fully automated telescope...125 pounds and $3600. (Add another $1000 for 4 quality eyepieces.)

You are so lucky... I recall standing there constantly turning both dials to track stuff with a telescope when I was a kid. A tracking scope like we have to day for hobbyists astronomers was unheard of back then. Sure observatories had tracking scopes, but for us dilettantes it wasn't even a wild dream.

The Moon is 1/2 degree in diameter, which means that without tracking, it'll be out of your field of view in 2 minutes!

Most of my 30 telescolpes have had fully automated locating and tracking, making it easy to study those Nebulas, Gaalaxies, Clusters, Planets and the Moon at leisure, without having to reset the scope every 1 or 2 minutes.

Here's my wife and I with one of the big trackers I used to own, a 12" Meade LX200, at 125 pounds and $3600. (Without eyepieces yet!)

She's the Secretary of our astronomy club, the High Desert Astronomical Society.

I'm a pistol guy, and have been for many years. I greatly enjoy my Crosmans, the Izy, and we have an Alfa for the 4-H club, and it simply rocks. As for the above mentioned scope, I would not count on it handling a magnum powered spring pistol, remember they recoil in both directions, and the powder burner scopes are designed to handle recoil in only one direction. Think of them the same as you would a scope on a spring rifle, it a magnum rated powder burner scope will get killed on that spring gun, I would assume the pistol version would also die a messy death. I can verify they will live on some beastly pistols, I had one of those on a 445 Super Mag Contender. That thing had some serious recoil, and the scope lived. But I have not tried one on a Spinger pistol, after killing my share of rifle scopes on one spring rifle, I finally got it through my head to use spring rated air rifle scopes.

It will handle it easily. I had one on my patriot for years. They
are made for such recoil.

I thought that it was common knowledge that Bushnell Elites would handle
any springer recoil.

Got my first pistol last Dec. (2014). Crosman SR357. Seal for CO2 Cylinder started leaking after about 6 cylinders. Called crosman and was told the parts will not be available for at least a year. Not even seals. they said I COULD SHIP IT BACK, but I really don't feel like driving over 100 miles round trip to ship it, and waiting who knows how long to get it back, after every 300 or so shots. Would love to get a Hatsan AT-P1 but our governor VETOED bills to change the laws that have air guns classified as Firearms Dec. 28th. So no pistols except .177 cal BB only with smooth bore barrels.
