The refurbished .25 Marauder arrived today on the same truck as my pellets and spare magazines. Couldn't have planned that.

I loaded up two magazines and filled the rifle with my portable buddy bottle.

No scope on it yet. Just looking down the barrel at my back stop. Whoa! It has real felt recoil. Not that violent back and forth slam of a piston gun, but a direct rearward kick like a powder gun. At shot 16 the kick still felt about the same. Can't wait to get a scope on it and see what it will do. Unfortunately I'll have to wait. My chipper shredder also arrived today, and I need to clear a lot of tree trimmings. I'll be assembling and using that the rest of the day... well after I finish a PTZ camera mount I am making for a customer...

Congrats on the new .25! While mine was a .25, it really knocked my socks off with how well it shot. Just sighting down the barrel (no scope) I was able to hit a big street sign at 100 yards. I could hear the "ping" of the pellet hitting the sign, then the "whack" of it hitting the trees behind. Very satisfying! Though I never got to shoot it at that distance again scoped, I'm confident that it would have been fairly accurate. Accurate beyond 40 yards has been the impossible dream ever since converting to .22.

Bob, look into the "Improved BLT" tune if your not after max performance. My 25 M-Rod with this tune gives three mags at 37-38 ft.lbs from 2500 PSI down to 1500 PSI. Yep 24 shots using only 1000 PSI of air, and still shoots dime size or smaller at 26, and 47 yards. (Distance of my targets at home) I have shot it at 55 yards out on our land, and all the way out to 100 there. At the 100 yard range wind really starts to play into it, and I need to practice more at that distance. Anyway, I will dig up a link for the tune, and as long as it's OK, I'll post the link since it's from the M-Rod board. Otherwise I can post the text.

Bob, yes if your happy with the performance and shot count, start with that baseline first. I shot mine for probably two months without touching a thing. I thought I was happy with it, and the performance was fine, and without digging out my notebook, it was in the high 40 ft.lb. region, and I was getting somewhere around two mags. Well I realized most of my shooting was 50 yards or less, and it was,and still is a great squirrel thumper. Once I decided to mess with, I found the post on the BLT, and improved BLT tunes, so just gave it a try. Since I increased my shot count by another full mag, I went with it. Feel free to drop me a note and I'll keep an eye on this post if you do need the info.Hey enjoy the heck out of your new toy. They are IMHO a great rifle, I would like to shave a little weight off the whole package, but I like the Hawk scope too much. Anyway, sorry not trying to jack your post, again have fun with it, mine rocks.
