I got a Beeman P17 as a gift today, and it shoots great. It is new to me, though well loved by its previous owner.

I can not leave well enough alone when it comes to my AirGuns. I am aware of mods like putting a camphor on the piston, installing a longer barrel or even a .22 cal barrel. What I am interested in is any moddifications that can be made to the P17 to increase its power. Being that it is a SSP and there does not seem to be any way to increase the efective stroke length I have not been able to figgure anything out, as yet.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Double O ringing the piston does help.

Thank you for that. Do you know the size and OD of O-Ring by chance?

Time to clean off the lathe again.

The O ring size is 13/16" ID, 1" OD so cross section is 3/32".

Personally I would buy the Beeman P3 which is what the cheap P17 is copied from.

I just can not see any advantage in the P3. It is the same power, the P17 is very reliable, the mechinism is identicle, though the price is a huge difference.
