I assume this is a "trial" to see how fast it sells to determine if they will bring it back to the market again. I always liked the 2260- lightweight, easy to drag around, reasonable power (assuming the weather wasn't cold) and customizable. The Discovery was little more than a repackaged 2260 with a bigger tube and the PCP bits/pieces. _________________ ` I'd say "I care." But I'd be lying. The new shooter will be put to good use in my basement range this winter. Thanks for the tip but I have a Disco for my HPA shooting needs. The 1077 is the only other rifle they have, I'm not counting the 2250 since it is a pistol with a shoulder stock. The focus at Crosman seems to have shifted to tactical/ assault style rifles. _________________ Too many projects to list.   Posted: Sun Nov 24, 2013 11:09 am robert w Senior Member Joined: 12 Feb 2012 Posts: 574 Location: usa crosman might have slipping sales from those famous Chinese made guns that don't have the quality American made guns have. so they are trying to sample the water n see if the 2260 will sell.i know for a fact great co2 rifles came from crosman in the 70-80's. my 400 is living proof. I killed a lot of tree nutters with it for years. the seals are bad now,i need to reseal it n use it more. the finish,build was American quality. oh what is the wood in your gun to ? ash,walnut,red oak,hard maple? About the only thing I can tell the difference between is wood and plastic I knew things were going down hill when I heard the Sheridan air gun line was being discontinued. I'm sure it makes sense to the bean counters and I get it that a .20 cal pumper doesn't sell very well, but it is sad to see the Sheridan line disappear. The 2260 reappearing is a good sign though, and I hope they sell well enough to be brought back permanently and maybe well enough to revive the 1760 also. _________________ Too many projects to list.   Posted: Sun Nov 24, 2013 12:05 pm lampy Veteran Member Joined: 04 Aug 2012 Posts: 297 Location: South Dakota I seem to remember reading that the Disco was based on the 2260/ 1760, and the stock on the rereleased 2260 looks a lot like the Disco stock. I will have to do a side by side comparison between the two when the 2260 arrives. I had a bunch of ideas bouncing around for the 2260.... The first and most obvious is installing the steel breech kit, DUH that is a no brainer. Second is making it into a 1760 since I have the steel breech kit for it and just happen to have a 1760 barrel I bought for another project. Then I had the thought, maybe a Challenger barrel will fit making it into a 10 yard target rifle? Third idea, make it into a pumper.... I'll start with the steel breech kit and see where that leads me. _________________ Too many projects to list.
