right now i have a beeman wolverine rs2 series in 22 caliber, i have a friend that has a benjamin pump up. i am begining to really like the beeman, but he says a pumper is better as i can bend my barrel on the beeman from just cocking it. is this tue?, i know not to pull the trigger with barrel cocked as that can but can just cocking it bend the barrel? i'm hoping he is just jealous as my beeman is more powerful and i can hit just as good as he can. thanks

Use a steady pull and stop when it clicks, the chances of bending an airgun barrel with normal use is unlikely.

barrels on break barrel airguns are made to resist bending under normal use by the selection of steel and the heat treatment that goes into the manufacturing of them.

Although after 100,000 shots, and a complete rebuild and tune, I managed to work the barrel on my D34 loose, enough to move the shot group about 1" vertical at 10 yards.

It wasn't actually the barrel, the breech block was ever so slightly softer so the work cycles made it distort.

Anyway, by the time you shoot your body weight in pellets, and take care of the gun, you still shouldn't have any problems. Don't worry about it.

you'll have to work at it to bend your break barrel air rifle.

under normal cocking and loading operation...not likely.
