| Do these valves have the plastic spacer in them like the other 2300s and the new 2240s? Just wanting to confirm this before I tear mine down to take them out. I know the internal valve spring is heavier because it doesn't poke as large a hole in the CO2 capsule. If this piece is in there I figured I might get extra range and power out of my 23xx and 24xx. Mine are ones made before the KT designation, but I am thinking they may still be in there. Dose anyone know before I tear them down to find out? |

Do you have some detail on this plastic spacer? I have not heard about this before.
The 2300T pistol had a brass sleeve to reduce the valve volume, but I had not heard of any sort of spacers or such in 2240s. |

| I can't find the post on the yellow forum now, but there was a post about the new 2300s and the 2400 using a sleeve inside the valve to reduce volume and bring up shot count. I was just thinking it was true, because my 2240 which is about 20 years old hits harder than my 2300 custom pistol with the same hammer spring. THe 2300 has a 3 and a half inch longer barrel, but it doesn't make cans fly like my stock 2240 does. I am willing to deal with less shots if this is the case. I just want it to hit as hard as my 2240. |

If it is a 2300T then it has a brass sleeve in the valve to take up some of the volume. As for a plastic spacer- this may or may not be true- alot of people hear something and then just repeat it on the internet, accuracy be damned.
The amount of inaccurate garbage that gets posted some places is often surprising. The thing to remember is that you get people who have one "custom" gun (i.e. a 2400) and a 2240 to compare. This does not make for any sort of a "rule" to be followed. For example, a custom gun with a shorter (i.e. 7.5 or 10") .177 barrel might very well use a 2300T valve as it doesn't need alot of Co2 flow, whereas a .22 with an 18" barrel may very well not have any sort of spacer as it can better utilize the Co2. But, if I only have a regular 2240 and a single "custom" gun, I might start believing all "custom" guns have this spacer, perhaps dead wrong, but I really believe it's true based on the limited scope of my observation.
Take your valve apart and remove any spacers if they exist, the valves are the same in the 2300 and the 2240 otherwise. |

| Okay, the 2300s has the same sleeve. I saw pictures of it. The valve spring is also longer, but it is a smaller diameter and thinner wire so it may work out to be the same weight. |

Okay, I took my 2300 apart. It has the 10.1 in .22 caliber barrel. The valve spring is longer but about the same stiffness of my 2240. I am just swapping out springs in my 2240 and my 2300. The 2240 could do with the better efficincy, whereas the 3 in longer barrel in my 2300 could use the extra gas more efficiently. I wanna make those vegetable cans DANCE! lol
Edit: something I forgot to mention. The spring is longer and thinner than the 2240 spring, but by the time you get it compressed to working length it is actually stiffer. |

Here are some notes I had on the 2300T valve, from this forum a couple years ago.
