just recieved a super duty kit for my fwb 124, which includes the spring, bushing and seal, also got some moly paste. really excited about this and I have this weekend off as well as monday so the first thing will be to construct a spring compressor of some type. Am very happy with JM's service, the kit was packaged up expertly, there were three layers of packaging, put it this way, nothing was gonna happen to that kit. may even take a stab at repairing the crack in the stock through the wrist area. been shooting it like this for a long time, but would feel better with some glue in there. kip

I put the Pro-Mac kit in my 124 and love it! Jim is a good guy to deal with.

should complete the spring compresser today, and maybe this evening take the guts out of the tube, will see how far I get. was wanting to go fishing this evening but just can't seem to do anything other than work on this project. put some high grade super glue into a crack in the stock, as I couldn't get it spread enough for even the thinned epoxy, it's clamped up still. there is also a very very slight bend in the cocking arm that I need to straighten. the stock really needs to be refinished, not sure I will tackle that right now.

finally finished the spring compresser today but it took more work than I had forseen, was pretty tired so didn't get to the gun dissasembly. the spring compresser turned out great, I used maple for the board and also the blocks that hold the compression tube of the gun, took alot of time to get the cradle blocks shaped just right.

finally got the fwb 124 all fixed up, put the maccari kit in there and straightened the cocking arm. put the barrel back on the tube and put it all back in the stock, gonna refinish the stock later. I sh!t it about 10 times into a board and man does that thing shoot hard now, I am really excited about having my old freind working again, and I also learned alot in the process about the internals of a spring gun. anyone have a recomendation for some pellets for this gun, I have about 250 beeman silver jets left. looking at the jsb exacts or the h&n trophy, they are about the same in shape, but I don't know which one will fit the barrel the best. kip

Ok, the fwb 124 is smokin!! I ordered some air arms heavy diablo pellets at 10.3 gr. and swiped a 4x scope off one of my 22's and put it on the gun, after sighting in the scope I was putting these pellets into a nickle size group at 25 yards, and I didn't even have a real good rest. just wonder what it would really do with a bench rest and good scope and mount and rings. the new spring and seal put the velocity at 842 fps with the old silver jets and 745 with the heavy pellets, and they also calmed alot of the noise and such down too. I am so excited! need to refinish the stock but will waite till this fall I think as will be shooting it this summer. thanks guys, ya'll have a great site here. kip

just checked, the pellets that shot so good were air arms field heavies at 10.3gr. not diablos, I love the shape of these pellets as well as the accuracy.

took a starling off the top of a purple martin birdhouse yesterday at about 50 yards with the rebuilt fwb 124, with the wife telling me I couldn't do it that far with a pellet rifle, after the feathers floated down I said , this ain't your daddies pellet rifle. lol thanks guys for all the info and support with this project, next thing I'm gonna do is get a good set of bkl rings and a decent scope at least 6 power, just have a cheapo on it right now I took off a 22. kip
