It's a Crosman 760 in a new package- so if you have any experience with a 760- it will be about the same with the M4- just a different look and hold.

The gun is made very well and does not feel or look cheap at all. It has a rifled barrel and they (including mine) are very accurate for what they are.

If you like the look and don't mind pumping- it's worth the less-than-$100.00 asking price. But, I'm not a big pump fan and have only fiddled with one a bit, so I can't offer much of a personal experience on it.

Eric- Would you be able to recommend a red dot sight for the m4? Smile

Any red dot with a Weaver-style mount will fit it- I personally like the Bushnell red dots- the Bushnell 28mm Tactical (#73-0135) red dot is used by alot of Field Target shooters and they all like it (as do I, nice crisp reticle/dot without any fuzz/blurr).

Thanks Eric.

Will a weaver scope work on the picatinny mount?

I bought that gun for Christmas last year and returned it when i found out it was just like the 760 in a m4 case and 50 bucks more expensive... and instead bought a Beeman rs2 much happier with that purchase.

Probably, yes. Brownell's says: “Picatinny” won’t fit Weaver, but Weaver will fit “Picatinny".

Like many things- it appears that 'people' are using "Picatinny" and "Weaver" as interchangeable terms. Some places use "Picatinny/Weaver" in descriptions. Without getting into a rant similar to that of 3/8" vs. "11mm" dovetails, I think it's fairly safe to say anything made, either "Picatinny" or "Weaver" in the last 15 years is pretty much interchangeable.

Crosman is going to have a new m4-177 with a nitro piston for 2013 , I am trying to find out if it will be a single pump.

Crosman is (supposed to be) coming out with some new serious AGs for 2013! Some real nice tactical rifles. Now I need to see which ones I'm going to sell to get them! Zip the nitro piston will probably be a break barrel.

If it's a Nitro Piston, it's not a pumper- it's a springer.

Crosman has been, for the last couple years "announcing" all sorts of things that never come to market- nobody should hold their breath waiting for something announced next week to come to market...

Hi Guys,

Just thought I would update this thread. I returned the m4 as I had a pumpmaster 760 and the more I thought about it the more I didnt want another pumper.
