| Well, I'm getting divorced guys. After 11 years she decides she doesn't want to be with me anymore. I miss my boys so much. I can't even shoot because I don't have a basement any more. I need to get a backstop so I can shoot in my apartment. Any ideas on what to use? I was thinki9ng of the electrical putty backstop, but I'm not sure yet. Anyway wish me luck, cuz I'm alone again. |

This is what you didn't have before! Divorce is tough, but many times it's for the best. Time heals all wounds. Now let's get back to airguns! The electrical duct seal is the way to go. They are silent. I made a pellet trap from an old safe and put two rows of duct seal in it. Zero noise. |

Sorry to hear about your situation Todd. As for a silent target box I use Carpet pieces in a box, but I think for easiness duct seal is you best bet.

Sorry to hear about your situation bro. If nothing else I can tell you this. Life has a weird kinda way of ironing itself out, so don't stress yourself. Hope it's civil at least and she doesn't try to take you to the cleaners.
As to the backstop, a thick wad of newspapers(about 6") between some old carpet works pretty well. |

| Thanks guys. I'm not being taken to the cleaners though. I don't have anything to take! She isn't even asking for child support. I just wish I hadn't pushed her to this. I feel like it's my fault. I just miss my boys so much. I'm going to go with the putty as soon as I can scrape the money together for it. It's gonna take a while though. I have to quit smoking because I can't afford it. Shooting is going to have to take second place right now. Don't worry, I'll still be visiting the site though. I have too many friends on here to stop that. Thanks guys. |

Smoking is awful for you, you'll be a better person if you quit. My grandma died gasping this spring after 66 consecutive years of smoking. Wish she hadn't had been so selfish to let an addiction cut her strong life short. You think you can't afford to BUY cigarettes? Think what you're doing to your body. That's just how it goes.
Get yourself a nice legal marijuana prescription if you want to smoke something; theres some stuff that never hurt anyone.
As far as back stops go, I use a box wooden box with a hole cut out of one face that I fill with telephone books or old national geographics.
Good luck with the divorce man, don't let it run you down. Stay in touch with your boys. |

Sucks, big time.
If you have some budgetary challenges, you can make a box out of plywood and stuff layers of old carpet in it- i.e. on top of one another like a stack of magazines- you are shooting at the side of the carpet strips, not the face. You jam it in tight and as deep as possible (widest strips are you can fit)- and it's cheap, quiet and works great. It was actually Alstone that brought this method up a number of years ago- works quite well. |

| If I could just get a date I would feel better. All I do is sit in my apartment and think too much. I go over to my dad's every couple of days but that doesn't help much. I have too much time on my hands. |

Hey Todd, you should start working out dude. That's what everybody in Miami does when they split up! This will take up some of your extra time and help with the dates too. You will feel better about things and yourself. |
