I have a customer who could not get one of my adapters to seal properly...
I've never had one returned and no complaints till now.
So I had the customer send me the gun minus the stock to see what was going on.
Turns out that the gas tube was out of round right at the sealing area.
Rather than waiting on Crosman to send out a new tube, I decided to try out the new Spin Index and machine one from a Discovery tube cut that I had laying around.
Since there was no access hole to replace the OE Co2 seal... I decided to do something a little different...
I turned a o-ring grove in the original transfer valve to seal up that end of the gas tube and man did it turn out sweet!
Drill the roll pin hole @ 0* first then turn 120* for the transfer tube slot... Easy peasy with the new Spin Index & a 7/8" collet.

Well it doesnt seem like there is any issue getting one from Grizzly but of course they have a minimum order for Canada and a collet isn't even close and they have published brokerage fees

Hmmm? I haven't paid a brokerage fee on small items in years. Whenever I have issues with canadian delivery I have things shipped to my UPS box in Ogdensburgh, NY. But as soon as I tried to pay it made me do the canadian sales thing.

Hey Joe, you think you can post a pic of the valve of the 1077 if its one of the newer 1077's? Preferrably the back end where the hammer strikes?

Or if you can tell me if c02 should escape through the back of the valve when the hammer hits ?

I already sent off the one I made... The only pics I have are above.

If the valve is properly sealed, it should not leak.

Sorry for the delay in replying. My iPhone makes me sign into AGH each time I get a notification and we've been away a lot lately.

Carrie is back on her regular schedule +OT at work... so I guess I ought to get busy in the shop.

Trying to balance production and shop remodel/repairs is a pain... I need to finish the cut room and I got a good size order going over to the UK for SD Customs at the same time.

Yeah I discovered the hammer pin seal had small tears on the inside and was loose around the pin allowing the c02 to escape.

Since I was near the end of my inventory and a new batch of adapters needed to be made... I decided to make some design changes and start a 2nd generation of improved adapters.

Three changes to be made.

1. I extended the gas tube sealing o-rings 1/4" farther away from the access hole to allow for any deformations caused at the Crosman Factory when milling out the access hole.

2. I redesigned the Transfer valve seal. The old way relied on the slight taper of the factory threading and teflon tape to make up the seal. If they ever change to a plug tap there could be a problem... So I went Probe style with a o-ring that seals on the ID of the transfer valve. Removal of the OE Seal, Retaining ring and the filter are now required. The o-ring lands on the shelf where the filter sat and as you tighten up the adapter, it expands the o-ring causing a positive seal.

3. Now that you don't have to crank down on the tool holes, I can make them out of T6 and you just snug the adapter to make the seal much like a disco valve.

Benefits to the end user:
Easier to install
Less chance of leaks
lighter than the previous versions.

Now that I have a local bluing service, I will be making the fill kits and selling them as a complete Bulk Kit.
