Hi All,

I have just bought a plastic-stocked Crossman 2200 Magnum... minus the rear part of the stock.

I have some mahogany in the workshop but I would be really interested in any photographs that anyone has of the original wooden stocks and how they are fitted.

Cheers,
Steve

Bump Wink

Anyone have any pics of the original wooden stocks?

Especially interested in how they are fitted to the metal parts of the action.

Cheers,
Steve

It looks like a single screw passes through the buttstock, head to the left and threads engaging the right hand clamshell.

The parts diagrams are here:

Do a Google image search for Crosman 2200 and you will find tons of photos of the stock's appearance.

Did the 2200 actually have a wooden stock at some point? Every one I've ever seen they were plastic (sorry, make that "synthetic").

looks pretty easy to do, just drill your hole first and let that be your main point of reference. Easy bandsaw cuts, chisel, file and walla!!!!

He he... That reminds me of working from car manuals when I was a lad and the Haynes book would say "simply remove the gearbox housing" which always seemed to translate as "you've got two days work ahead which will involve swearing and loss of blood!".

I still have to finish my WWII styled QB78 target rifle. Although the Crosman is calling to me so I may have two projects in parallel.

Cheers,
Steve
