I am seriously considering purchasing a second airgun, but it will cost around $600.00. It won't cause any hardship but would be totally out of character for me. I am going to have to pick up some side work to pay for it but I am getting an entire package and shouldn't need to spend anymore to be able to enjoy it for a while. My getting an airgun at Christmas has gone over like a lead balloon but the enjoyment factor is drowning out almost all decension, that and the fact that my hearing is deteriorating. I could be stepping into the abiss by going through with it. Help I'm scared Exclamation

It has been my experience (with the "General" anyways) that it is ALWAYS easier to ask - or beg, if need be - for forgiveness than permission! I felt the same way when I decided to get into HPA. Spent around $500 (just the bare necessities), and that's not counting the gun itself! Shocked

In case you're wondering,I got over it pretty quick!

Granted, I know nothing of your situation, but IMO, I say go for it! Being bummed out for (I'm assuming) a short period of time for spending $600, FAR outweighs forever regretting passing up the chance to get something you truly enjoy...wondering just how it shoots...how it feels...

No, absolutely not.
I believe the correct version of the cliché is "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to get permission". Which may be true, but it's not better to take this route, especially in a marriage or relationship. You may be better off talking through this one and come to an understanding. Of course I hope the understanding is that you can spend your own earned extra money on yourself. Very Happy

Unfortunately that is not my situation I wish it was. I'm not going to beat myself by worrying about seeking permission for persuing the only hobby and outlet for stress that I have even though its new found. However I am going to scale back the initial investment, and then slowly add a few accessories as they become neccesary. I used to have a pistol which I recently sold in order to accumulate a fund and instead I spent it on other things once someone found out.
