Hi! I've been lurking here for a bit. I shoot a lot, everything from black powder to air guns. More recently, I've mostly been doing the air guns. I have three: a Brazillian-made Winchester/Daisy 1000x with a little Daisy scope that might be coming off as soon as I get a new front sight (ordered.) The gun was delivered with the sight pre-destroyed. It seems to hit fairly hard. I also have a Crossman pump pistol (1377) that is pretty accurate--- spot-on at 30 feet offhand at 5 pumps; shoots high at 9 pumps. (All I have so far is the Crossman Premier hollow points Wally World offers.)

Then there's the B3-1. I got this thing around 20 years ago for $30 at a gun show. I fired it maybe 30-40 rounds before the breach seal, which was apparently made of chewing gum, came apart. So it went into the closet for years--- like I said, I have other things to shoot with, so it was no big loss. Anyway, I was wandering around the net a few weeks ago and saw something about the Chinese B3. That made me search for a replacement breach seal--- I found the kit that Archer offers, but then I found a YouTube video where a guy replaced the breach seal with a faucet washer. Being basically cheap, I discovered I had a neoprene washer the right size, so I started shooting the B3 again. It smelled like hell, and would hit the old wok I use as a backstop almost every time at 50 feet or so. Then I used the string trimmer pull-through trick and a bunch of T-shirt patches soaked in foam engine degreaser to clean the barrel (It was BAD!) and followed it with clean patches until they came out clean. Now I'm down to minute-of-poker-card, offhand, at about 50 feet with open sights. It wants to shoot high (same Crossman hps), but I'm getting there.

I'm going to get a metal breach for the pistol, too. Y'all have already helped a lot--- there's a lot I don't know about air guns, and to me, all guns are fascinating. I'll be picking your brains more, I'm sure.

Welcome to the forum, Needles!

My B3 must be newer than yours. Instead of chewing gum, my breech seal was made of toilet donut wax. I went to a faucet washer also, and it's still going strong after more than a year.
