ok i have a ruger airhawk.i know its not a german or american gun.heres the scoop.i got it with these cheap mounts it came with. all the reviews said there junk.well i posted a few things about them and they moved so much i finally bought a gamo one piece mount.well shot a squirl after sighting it in and nailed him with a head shot.now i go to shoot it today first shoot at 100 ft shot is 1/2 from bull's eye. im thinking wow its dead on.next couple shots are low 2 - 3 inches.im thinking maybe its my hold.so i move the target back to 50 feet.im hitting high so i dialed it down and got it back on hitting 1 1/2 group ripped the center of the target out.after 20 shots.i then move the target back to 100 feet and im hitting high?is this a result of the paralax of my scope?i had read somewhere to sight it in at 100 ft because of its paralax.the scope is the one that comes with the combo its a 4x32.

check your screws they might have worked loose . springer reciol is harsh on tight screws if any are loose blue locktite them and check your stock mounting screws they loosen up and let the action move in the stock. if loose locktite them also but use blue locktite as any other color is hard to turn the screws if you need to work on it . might not be your problem but id start there as thats where all the problems start with accuracy

+1. Try the scope screws first. Also the stock screws could work loose.

I don't know about anyone else but it seems to me that my groupings change from one session to another. Springers are hold sensitive and some days I can pick my gun up and she's dead nuts and other days it feels like its all over the place. What I have to keep in mind is not to get sucked into the resetting my scope trap, I spent a lot of time and ammo getting it right the first time and I keep practicing so my hold is always consistent. I set my zero at 12yds in the basement and when I get out side I start practicing for distance, my pellets keep rising to about 35 yds then they start to drop. Its just a matter of remembering what part of the crosshair I need to use. I wish I had a mildot but for now I'm using a multi X or 30/30 style recticle. There are factors such as pellet shape variations as well as weight variations in the same can that can throw a shot off, so I'm saying this on the assumption that you fired 3 shots before you started changinging things and I think thats not enough due to all the variables that can affect accuracy even before parts start breaking. i did notice two screws had loosened up some on the rear portion of the mount.i did loctite everything last night. so ill try again.so what range should i zero at?it still shoots decent to 100 ft is that pushing the limits of the gun?

What caliber and velocity? How far do you ever shoot? About how big is the kill zone on what you might hunt?
I usually zero at 30 or 35 yards.
