Hello all
I am trying to find out what the make of a particular rifle was.
It was my dad's & neither are around (dad passed away & gun got stolen)
So around 45 years ago dad would have bought a .177 airgun (in France, Germany or England)
If I remember correctly there was an outline of a shield (Like a Medival Battle shield .. aka "Heater Shield")
Kind of like the one attached in the pic. This outline seemed to be the company logo & was located on top the reciever tube toward the butt end of the gun.
The barrel seemed like it had a tube of brass that was rifled, inside of it.
It was VERY accurate & the rifling was right twist & seemed to be very high quality .. the inside was almos a golden mirror finish like.
Did not seem like a cost cutting feature .. but then again I don't know. Had a very nice crown too I remember clearly.
Also I remember one very cool feature on this gun - you never had to "break" the barrel, there was a small lever on the side
that you pulled back & the barrel would drop open as if it were tapped open on a current BS Classic for example..
The trigger was 2 stage & was like a leaf trigger.
A unique bolt in the pivot that held the barrel to the tube prongs - this bolt had a little "c" shape machined out of it
& when tightened properly this "c" would line up with a screw hole that another tiny screw would go in thereby preventing
the main bolt from loosening. The gun was all metal had all metal open non adjustable sights & some kind of dark wood stock.
I have looked far & wide .. high & low - no joy.
If anyone has any info on this make please let me know.
Thanks !
