Watched "trick shooters" on the History channel. Bill Oglesby shot a playing card in half (edgewise) from about 15 feet with a .44 Winchester lever action rifle. Thought this would be fun to try with my Crosman M4-177 rifle.
Set up a playing card at 20 feet and using the peep/post sights gave it a try. Needless to say it was a bit tricky lining up the sights on the edge of the card. Had I used a sturdier holder, I probably could have cut it through on the third shot. Finally nailed it on the seventh shot. Used RWS Meistergelun 8.2 gr. .177 wad cutters. | I've been trying this in my basement range myself. I can't quite cut in half with one shot, only about 2/3rds of the way. I'm thinking I need to fasten the card more securely since it ends up flying away. Definity a challenge and much harder with round nose pellets over wad cutters. |
