It really depends on the gun and what your doing with it.
Springers have a lot of moving parts that like to wear in to become consistent. About 500 rds if your doing it by just shooting. If you strip it and do a good lube and tune then much less.
With HPA guns your really seasoning the barrel and wearing the burrs off the hammer, sear, trigger. If it's a plinker/fun gun the not many rds to break in ....maybe 50 or 100. Again lots can be done to hasten this by stripping and polishing some key parts.
If your talking about a target barrel that your looking for the absolute in performance then 2000 would be a good start. |

A rifle for me that most often I end up wanting to punch paper and get small groupings whether a PCP; springer; or nitro piston I say about 250 rounds of quality pellets. That being said I recommend also after a session of maybe 40-50 shots you clean the barrel with J-B embedding paste to a mirror shine! Then another session. If your looking to a competition gun.................then crown the muzzle with an 11 degree and outer chamfer as well. Remove all burrs and begin breaking in the gun that way.
I usually like to put said amount down a barrel to settle in the internal workings. |

Thank you mtsheron I am customizing a brand new Crosman 1322 and waiting for the scope adapter to show up now should be here today I hope so I can see how it shoots. I took the stock barrel off and put on a brand new 14inch one on it and also put on custom grips and forarm from R&B grips. Also replaced the plastic breech with Crosmans steel breech and a new muzzel brake cant wait for the adapter to get here so I can mount the red/green dot scope on it then start plinking. Going to make a indoor target setup and try my best to get it shot in the only pellets I have are RWS Superdome field line anyone know of these and are they a good start out pellet?
Thanks my friends GeepII. |

| RWS Superdome are a good quality pellet. Whether or not your particular gun will shoot them well no one can tell you. You'll just have to try them out and compare them to a few others. |
