Just took a possum in one shot, (but didn't think to take pics 'Tard ). Just curious, & thought I'd ask & see the end result.

Has anyone on this forum ever eaten possum? Have a recipe you used? And did you enjoy it?
I'm curious to see where this goes.

I dunno- I bet most of us here eat dead cow. The question is: how long was it dead?

The real question is if you're a Viking fan and eat it cooked, or a Packer fan and eat it raw.

I'd have to assume if it crawled out of it that it had been eating more organs than meat, but either way I'd never get any closer to a possum than I had to.

Btw, I'm not sure I've ever met a Packer fan who eats raw meat of any kind lol.

"Tiger meat." Raw hamburger with spices. Popular at tailgate parties and during the holidays. Serious enough that the Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture felt the need to tell people not to eat it:
http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-244609739.html

But that apparently didn't bother this Wisconsin caterer in the least - they offer it with or without onions:
http://bontonbakery.webs.com/cateringmenu.htm(see tiger meat, with or without raw onions)

And let's not forget those Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church pastors who will snack on raw meat and beer during their seminar in January:

Shadow Fox48, Don't knock it till u try it. There are places in this world where people eat some things that would gag a maggot, but to them it's a delicacy. Now I didn't say tis before, but have eaten possum several times(including the one I shot when I started this thread, & 2 more since). If you know how to clean, gut & season it, it tastes great. It just has to be prepared by someone with experience.

Hmm. E.Coli, Salmonella, BSE and so on. Never ceases to amaze me how people need to be "reminded" of not doing stupid things. Mind you, there is no cure for stupid in as far as I have been able to determine thus far...

PROPER egg nog has enough 151 rum in it to pasteurize the eggs....and your innards Wink
