My qb78th

what can i say about this gun. worth so much more then the small sum i paid for her. after shooting 22xx's for about a year this gun is such an improvement right from the finish, the trigger is a huge step up, the bolt and breech, everytime i open the bolt i expect a .22 casing to eject lol

this gun has impressed me mainly from what i have gotten out of her. she shoots hard, looks kool and now has a MUCH smoother trigger. the scope kept sliding back so i drilled the tube, taped it and installed a machine screw for a scope stop.

my 1377 *i installed a 24 inch barrel no pics yet*

with the 24 inch barrel i get about 500 fps at about 6 pumps or is it at about 20 pumps? :S anyway i have the steel breech, 24" barrel, custom bolt probe from another forum member trigger work and other mods that i cant mention
my telly *200 i think*

i dont know to much about this gun bought it for 20$ from a friend shoots really hard dont know the numbers but it has 2 springs in it for power

this gun was very accurate right out of the box i made a cheap quick but extension for my comfort Wink

Note: On this forum you can talk about all the mods you made- the only time you can be "moderated" for something is if we know where you live and have made modifications that we are certain are illegal there. Beautiful QB-78, leadman. Do they still make that rifle?

Is it true it is the same gun as the Crosman 160?

ooh ok i like that idea about this being a open forum like such

the qb78 is a chinese copy of the crosman 160. i have built a few 2260s and after i bought the qb i will never go back the way of the 2260 the quality is a million times better. this stock is actually the stock from another airgun (a modified version of the qb78) and yes they are still in production

And no kidding, a Chinese-made QB is alot better quality than the 2260? I always liked the simple look of the 2260 and was optimistic Crosman would be able to build it better than the people copying it. Oh well.

actually the qb78 isnt a copy of the 2260 it is a copy of the cr 160. the trigger is alot smoother even smoother then my 22xx trigger after i tuned it. the valve system is different and the overall feel of the gun is ALOT more solid

We have people in my country that tune the QB78 into a PCP.

I did hear that the basic gun really isn't much though. If you are used to something same-priced and with a spring-system.

In North America- those Chinese-made guns are most often significantly cheaper than the "equivalent" American or European-made guns. It's this, more than anything, that seems to incline people to purchase and modify them.

For reasons I personally don't know- the QB-78 seems to be a favorite for PCP conversion and modification. Perhaps leadman and gunrunner who both have this type of gun can explain?

Just my thoughts, never owned a 2260 but there pretty well the same gun as a 2240 which I have done a few mod's on, even ending selling my last 1 to a chap in England.
The only thing I liked about my 2240 with a 24" barrel is that it was light, the Qb is so much more a better gun.. all metal and wood, great trigger for the price of a QB-78, 2 Co2 bulbs to 1 unless you go bulk and by the time you add up the price of a modded 2240.. your much better off with the QB..
By the way nice collection of gun's.

here is a new look for my qb and my custom crosman build

im still waiting on the 2250 tube but when i get that i will be installing it. the crosman gun is a 2240 with a 1399 stock and 1760 barrel.....

Did you swap the stock on the QB- or refinish the one you had? Personally, I think your newer version looks better-more 'woody'.

The 2240/1389/1760 looks interesting, but how is it for holding? Seems like an awful lot of barrel with a short forearm (can we even call the cartridge tube a 'forearm'?). Do you use it with a bipod or something to stabilize it more efficiently? Of course, maybe it's just me- Shrug

I read at my forum that tuning a QB78 (priced at about 90 euro's here) can easily cost you 200.

It seems that there are a lot of different version, some of them with a lot of plastic parts too.

well i just reshaped the and refinished the qb and im at it again Embarassed

as far as the crosman gun it is so light that it is tough to hold steady as it is Sad/Cry

but i am getting either a 2250 or a 2260 tube for it so that will add weight as well.

the quality of the qb is incredible and there are very few plastic parts (besides o rings im thinking of 1 or 2 delrin parts in the valve)
