Howdy , Smile

I am new to this sport, and Ive been reading alot of good stuff on here.
So I want to pick your brains a bit.

Question ; Beeman RS 2 (.177 bbl), I took an eye loupe and checked the crown , it is pretty rough looking.
The front sight , seems like a plastic sleeve that has been pressed on.
I was wondering, does it have a "keyway" type slot that will align it , if I take it off, and decide to put it back on.
I would like to try the recrowning method in the sticky.

Question ; 3 years ago, I bought a pellet rifle , off of a truck sale Rolling Eyes

The first one was sort of beat up when I pulled it out of the box, so I went back, and they dug through quite a few, and found me one that was in good shape.
I shot it a few times, but , didnt have much faith in it, after seeing all the dinged up ones they had.
So, it has been sitting in the dusty garage, all this time.
Last week, i came across a few posts, and some good pages of info on it.
Its a B3-1. And I see that quite a few people really like them.
So I dug it out, and wiped it clean, and it shines like new.

I had thrown away the pellets that I had bought with it, as they were mixed sizes, and bent .
So , yesterday, I tried to shoot some H&N Domed field target pellets through it.
But they wont fit. They are too big, by a hair.
Any recommendations ? as too pellet brand and style?

And , if I ever decided to scope it, I would need to mount a scope stop,?
Or not?

Thanks in advance for taking time to read such a long winded post.

Smile
Dusty

It must have some sort of alignment notch. The removal method that makes the most sense to me (in the case of Crosman guns) is to put a Crescent wrench behind it and tap on the wrench.

Or at least they like the potential hidden inside a pile of crap. My brother considers them to be an "assembled kit of unfinished parts." I spent many enjoyable hours tinkering with my B3, and now I'm having fun shooting it. (Even though it's not the most accurate nor the most powerful gun I have.) As crude as it is, it's still a lot of gun for $20.00.

The B3's are not magnum springers (500-600 FPS), so you may not have to do anything at all to keep the mounts from creeping. If they do creep, try painting a little LocTite or automotive paint rubbing compound in the dovetail where the ring sits.

I own two of those truck sale beauties, and both came with the sights mounted in the dovetail back at the end of the compression tube. Both had a hole drilled in the tube that engages one of the sight screws. If you really needed a scope block you could drill and tap the scope ring for a setscrew that engages the hole. If yours doesn't have the hole (or it is positioned wrong) you could always take it apart and drill one - but definitely use a spring compressor to disassemble the gun.

Good info Slavia ,
Thanks

I dont think i'll be doing anything too soon , with either one.
But , with winter coming on, I like to have ideas for shop projects.

I actually kind of like the fact that the B3 isnt too powerful. As the boys Explorer is rated at 400+ fps, and we are cleaning out the shop , to have an indoor 10 meter range for the winter.
The B3 might come in handy for that.

Thanks again ,
Dusty
