Gamo is not really known to have quality air rifles. I have also heard that the Noise Dampeners dont really work is that why you want to get it. If you are willing to spend about $300, you may want to spent a little more and get a PCP like the Benjamin Discovery.

really! didnt know that. I'm looking for a break barrel. doesnt need to be silenced, just cant be to loud. I shoot the sparrows, crows, and squirels of my feeders. most shots i take are within 30yards. I already have a scope. Price isnt an issue just cant exeed $350

There are a lot of Air Rifles that are really accurate to about 30 Yards. There is no need to spend $300 on a Break Barrel like that. You could just get somethne like the Crosman Phantom. However if you are looking for a Nitro Piston, you should look at the Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk .177 ($200) Buy a nice scope, and still have money left over for pellets. (Preferably the Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums 10.5 Grain)

Why don't you replace the spring in the Vantage?

You can follow the guide in this thread. I believe the Vantage and Phantom/Quest are the same B18/19 platform.

There are 4 videos at the end that show the process step by step. You can do polish and lube at the same time you replace the spring and you should replace the piston seal at the same time. When re- installing the piston, be extra careful to ease the edges past the cutouts so you don`t damage the seal. You can restore your Vantage for very little $ . If you`re not up to it, you can send it somewhere for repair and tune. Of course if you are just wanting a new one... go get yourself one Very Happy
