Is MY Discovery. That rhymes, haha.
That being said, apart from the fact that the darn thing never seems to work right, I love my Disco. It's got a bit of magic that you don't find anywhere else. Probably some kind of black majig mumbo jumbo that some voodoo priests at Crosman put on it or something, cuz apart from that magic, it is what it is: a heap of just about to rust junk, that does shoot suprisingly accurate. 
Here's the thing. My Disco shoots 130 mps (426 fps) with the power adjuster fully turned in (and then some), which is nowhere near the supposedly high 700's. (By the way, I use Baracuda Extra Heavies)
With the adjuster turned out it's a measly 80 mps (260 fps). I didn't test it yet in the middle, and if it would make a difference but I'll have a chance on Wednesday. It is VERY consistant though. 
Also, it leaks from the valve.
I am sure this all has to do with my specific Disco, since I haven't seen these problems on any others that I saw around the board with chronographic data.
Should teach me to buy new and not used. But I don't learn good.  |

Check to make sure that the hammer is not dragging on the sear or something.... Also, does it have the proper hammer spring or is it one from a 22XX?....

It's an aftermarket spring, and it's a bit longer then the original one. It doesn't drag on the sear, because I tested it without the trigger group on it. (Pulling back the hammer and letting it go).
The leaking is temporarily solved by putting the gun away while cocked, without a pellet and on safety of course. I'll exchange the spring for the normal one to see if it makes any difference. |
