I want to wish a Happy and safe Canada Day to all the crazy canucks out there.
And in the same light Happy 4rth of July to everyone south of the border.
 
And because I'm spending my long weekend at work at a SAR station I'll put a heavy empasise on the BE SAFE.....I don't need the business

Having a "get drunk and blow sh!t up" holiday was the wish of at least one founding father. In a letter to his wife, John Adams wrote: "It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more." Except he was talking about July 2, the day they passed the Lee Resolution that "we are and of a right ought to be free and independent states." All they did on July 4 was approve the wording of Jefferson's "dear John" letter.
As it turns out, it's probably fortuitous that the emphasis shifted to July 4. That way, people with affection for both great countries have a couple of extra days to recuperate. Happy birthday to both!
