| I'm thinking there should be something in this area- so I'll go and do the research to find the info on an as-complete pistol modification plan as possible. Seeing as how pistols aren't my "thing" anyone have any ideas or votes on a specific gun would make for a good pistol-mod writeup? |

Go for something that isnt the norm....ie......1377 or similar guns.
Now myself, I am working on an old chinese springer.....I plan on stretching the spring, polishing the innards.....modifying a powderburner stock to work with it.......
Right now I am doing work on the transfer port area. It isnt squaring up, so I am using jewelers files to smooth out the area for proper fitment.
I would like to see maybe a gun that usually gets passed over for mods......done to the hilt.

Funny Guy.
No, seriously- I need to put something together on a pistol. Are you suggesting there's maybe a few too many writeups on 1377 mods?
And yes, I have thought about modding some $50 POS thing you can buy at Wal-Mart just to see what can be done. Unfortunately, I'm trying to stick with mods the average guy, with average tools can accomplish. Springer-gun mods- i.e. drill a hole/plug a hole, change a spring, add a shim, etc. most people can do- but designing and milling a new valve for a PCP or Co2 gun is something altogether different. And of course- the problem with most $50 guns is that they are, like a Red Ryder, really kids "trainers" with sub-400fps output -not detuned- right out of the box- so how far can one go with such a thing before needing to break out the calculator and the lathe due to their obvious design issues? I've been thinking of getting something like a Crosman 781 or a Daisy Grizzly- which are almost at the bottom of the heap and seeing what can be done with it by the average skill/tool person- but I haven't found the time to get around to it.
I do have a guy I've bugged a bit about coming out here who does rather "radical" and complicated mods (i.e. real custom work) and has the skills/tools to do this- but with the site problems and no "population" here yet- he's kept away up to now. I'd like to see him show up and start posting- apparently he's done some whacky things like gotten a PCP-powered 2240 to put out 111fpe. |

| Well I am planing on converting my 781 to co2.......by the looks of it, it shouldnt be too hard. Replace the piston with an aluminum slug that has a airsource or paintball threaded adapter. |
