Saturday and sunday the miss and I tried get a few hours in shooting the fortnight. But of course this is Canada in the springtime so the Black Flies are just nasty....NASTY!

Trying to get that perfect shot off with 50 to a hundred of the little B'tards chewing on your wrists and hands, behind your ears and flying in your nose and eyes was.....hmmm Fun!

So my question is whats the most ridiculous conditions you've endured to go airgunning

The absolute craziest thing I can remember is going out in 13 inches of snow when it was 9 below to shoot my springer and I still got 2 squirrels that day! I had to walk about a quarter of a mile to get to the woods. My wife and father in law said I was nuts, but I was so tired of them griping at each other over the pipes being frozen I had to do something to get out of the house while I waited for the basement to warm up! Run Away

Midsummer at dusk with my 2240 at the rifle range (which is mostly wetlands) - at least until I remembered that CO2 attracts mosquitoes. That realization explained a lot.

With my S400 on a midsummer day in the garden. It was crazy hot and I tell ya the gun was sweating! Shocked

Allthough a couple of weeks ago here it was like summer too. Just didn't go shooting then. Neutral

Wasps! Shocked

They love my garage, which is where my current range is located.

But this turns into fun as I chase them around trying to "POP" them with bursts of air from my 1377 or 880.

It takes patience and nerves of steel!!!!! Crazy LOL

I was laying in bed reading a book when I looked up and notice several flies on the ceiling (I had the window open).
My 397 just happen to be sitting next to the bed so...
I actually know better than to shoot pellets into the ceiling so I grabbed a gum wrapper that was sitting on the night stand, tore off a piece, wadded it up to approximately the right size and stuffed it into the rifle.
It was amazingly accurate and I proceeded to shoot the flies off the ceiling.
I didn't realize until later that although the foil didn't penetrate the ceiling it did knock the texturing off.
Mama noticed it later and was NOT happy. Mad
I spent the next day retexturing and painting the ceiling in out bedroom Rolling Eyes

Yeah, that popcorn stuff can be unforgiving. I scraped all of mine off and used drywall mud and a stomping brush to do mine. It turned out to be a lot more durable and a lot easier to paint. I can just imagine that one. Just about the same as "TODD!!!" "Okay honey what did you catch me doing now?" lmao

Actually it wasn't the popcorn stuff, just regular dry wall texturing. I'd have really tore up the popcorn texture *lol*

Lol...Broom thats very funny.Laughing Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you have an ocean moderated climate with an average annual temperature extreme of 21deg C? Faq-U

Slavia I feel your pain. I experience the same phenomena everytime I light the BBQ. One minute it's bug free then a blood bath.

The core of a Wisconsin winter. Nuff said. You Canuks prolly feel where I'm coming from! But I did manage to sit out there for a good half hour, after that it seemed like a good idea to come back in because I couldn't tell if the skirt was flush with the breech unless I looked at it lol. Brrrrrrr

I'd wish. Spring get's up to 30 degrees these days. This year we had a draught in the past coule of months, but it's better then the damp sweaty heat we normally have around this time of the year.

April and May are hot now, then followed by a moderate (21 C) June and Julie, August getting hot and sweaty again, followed by September being more of the same and then fall comes crashing down with wind, rain and then a drizzly winter with one or two weeks of snow.

The climate you came up with is already over 10 years old. :P The weather IS changing.

Sorry Broom I couldn't resist taking a shot. Smile
The area I live in swings from a low of -35 to a high of +35 C

But your absolutely right the weather is changing and rapidly. What I notice most because of my job is the extreme storms and winds. They are getting worse every year. My buddy told me last night that his town has recorded a 100 year storm every year for the past five years.

I agree with you guys about the weather getting worse. This has been the second wettest spring on record in my area, and there has been at least 50 more severe thunderstorms this year than last. I think out of the last week I have seen 1 day that didn't rain at all. The rest were either some rain or rained all day. My sump pump backup has kicked in about a dozen times in the last month and it hasn't ever done that before. It sounds like a smoke alarm when it kicks in which has scared me to death until I got used to it. I finally changed it from a piezoelectric sounding unit to a relay-activated buzzer. I was killing myself running up and downstairs to make sure that something wasn't on fire. Crazy LOL Thread Hijacked

Actually I don't think this is a thread jack it fits perfectly. The wind and rain we've been getting certainly qualifies as ridiculous airgunning conditions. That storm you got yesterday hit us in Niagara at nightfall. I was trying to get some shooting in late afternoon and we were recording wind speeds of +40mph (35Kts).
It seems everyday I change my target area trying to get some lee from the wind
