When I got to the range yesterday there was this big bird sitting on the 400 yard target frame. I couldn't make out any markings, but it looked to be about 30" tall, kind of raptor-shaped. Then four turkeys decided to frolic right behind my target. When they left, a muskrat decided to check it out.
Tonight the muskrat was back. No turkeys, but three pairs of Canadian geese decided to work shifts getting in the way.
Since when do they let wildlife loose to mess up my outdoor experience? |

I really hate it when you go to the range for a little time alone shooting, and the crowds show up.
Heck, I'd have seen them as moving targets. |

| It's a good thing there wasn't any starlings there or they would have been toast. They manage to show up when I am target shooting on my farm. I always manage to nail one or two. |

It was mightily tempting, but then I saw the faces of hundreds of kids wondering why one of their firearm safety instructors got arrested for hunting violations. It ain't always easy being a responsible grownup. |

My local range go's on cease fire cuz of deer.
I've never hunted/shot one but when I can put one
in the M1A sights.....
Nah, I'd rather shoot 'em with a camera anyway. |

Starlings are legal to shoot any time of the year here. Same with crows. I guess I'm lucky like that. lol |
