Well, I know there are quite a few people on this forum who are knowledgeable in the art of machining so I figured I would just give this a shot. Here goes...

I have a second interview with a company for a potential job next week. I have all the skills they are looking for in spades except for practical machining experience. I have done basic work with table, band and jig saws. Also some work with drill presses and lathes. However, since I have some time between now and then, I want to try and do as much research into machining techniques as possible. I picked up a copy of machinery's handbook, which has a TON of useful info but I am looking for more basic operational stuff.

Looks like there are some videos on youtube I will be checking out tomorrow but I just didn't know if there was anything the Gurus here might recommend. Ultimately, the only REAL option for learning is getting time with a tool on a workpiece, which I am also trying to arrange over the next week.

I have a very strong desire to learn any kind of machining techniques regardless of getting this job and any money I can slowly piggy-bank away is going to go toward getting a small mill or lathe. Thank you all in advance for any info you might be able to point me in the direction of.

Thanks Eric, that was a site I did not find on my own and has a lot of helpful info that answered a lot of my internal questions. My learning hunt continues, thanks again though.
