| Got the scope replacement the other day.Bushnell 4-12x40 Trophy XLT. I put about 100 rds. thur it and this one the cross hairs broke also. This time it was the Horz. one. The replacement for this one will be the third one on my new RX2 .22 that I have had for less than a month!!!! I am still pi$$ed about it. The people at PA have really been helpful on it. If it happens again, I don't know what to do?? PA told me that scope is rated for any AG. The recoil for this gun is HEAVY++++. If anyone has this same gun (RX2 .22), Please tell me what scope you are using, and if it has held up and for how long. Thanks glassman98 |

| I have always used crosspoint airgun scopes on both my springerss and never had a problem. Personally, I won''t ever use any other scope. I've even have used mine on my 870 with deer slugs, and it never skipped a beat. It's the peculiar kick that a springer has that kills scopes and a regular scope just can't survive it. I'm not sure which bushnell model that you have on your rifle, but you may talk to whoever keeps replacing your scopes about a crosspoint. An also very good scope is a leapers. I don't have one anymore but the one I did have lasted through 5 years of use. I ended up selling it when my eyes got too bad for a single power scope. It is still being used on a springer though. I've never heard of an bushnell air rifle scope. I know they make a very good scope, but there again is it designed for an air rifle's kick? |

Seems everyone these days is rating their scopes as "airgun compatible"- even if this is patently untrue. I guess the assumption is that most people won't actually use them on high-powered springers- so few will figure out its just marketing BS.
That being said, I have seen some 'higher end" airgun-rated scopes blow-up on a higher-powered springer, while the $50.00 "cheap" airgun-rated scope does very well- I think it comes down to some experimentation and feedback from people as to what is "really" airgun rated and what is more marketing BS. |
