Well first hello guys, I am new here.

And in this spirit I would like to apologise if I missed the correct section (BB section is for non pellets [which this gun isnt] and Pistol is for maintance [which I do not require])

So here is the deal:

I ordered px4 storm as my first air gun ever, so I am 99% (1% me trying to get informed by collecting information on the internet) percent new to this and I want to use it for plinking.

So before it arrives (in around 2 weeks) it would suck for me to not have no ammo to shoot and being forced to wait for excitement.

I am asking you, what are the best pellets for this pistol (I read CPUM are best pellets overall but someone said they are too heavy for this). I am looking for accuracy and power (well, what else?).
Also, someone said somewhere (review I guess) that pointed out pellets jam this gun, is this true?

Thanks and nice to meet you all.

Hi Meggy welcome to the forum

I can give you some quick advice on pellet selection that is non specific to your gun but applies to all air guns.

Unfortunately there is no best pellet as every single gun will be pellet specific in what it likes to shoot. You will need to try a variety of different pellets and see which ones shoot the best ...after the airgun has been broken in a little. during the break in which varies depending on the gun type it really doesn't matter what you shoot as long as they are clean.

And yes pointed pellets frequently do not work with guns which use a magazine.

After the break in period try a variety of quality ammo and see what works...thats half the fun of airgunning

I like the crosman destroyers in my 1088. It has a rotary magazine though. Since you get the 4th free from pyramydair.com, it's a little cheaper to try them that way though. All you can do is try as many as you can. As I heard from somebody else on here I quote" Every gun likes a different dance partner". Just keep trying till you find the right one!

Ok thanks.

Well any advice with which ones to start? Crosman Premier Light looks like it's a good one but I doubt they have it in Croatia.

I suppose anything above 8gr is too heavy right?

Any suggestion other than flats? (I want to make holes in cans not paper)

H & N Germany
RWS Germany
JSB czech rep

All these brands offer lighter pistol ammo and they are all world class. The JSB's should be very easy for you to get in Croatia

And
H & N makes a light domed pellet that may improve penetration. How are things in Croatia? I have not been there in 20 years.

H & N Field Target Trophy.
.177 weight 8.5gr. Tin of 500

or JSB Exact 4.5mm?

These? Isn't 8.5gr too heavy for 380 fps pistol like px4?

I also would like continued doomed pellet suggestion since I read somewhere it suits the pistol best, but I also wonder about this jam thingy myth with RWS super point in px4 magazine.

I am hoping to get from people who have this gun too and see their experiences.

How is in Croatia hm.. high rate of unemployement, *corrupted* goverment going in more and more depths instead of focusing on making use of our resources and generally doesnt feel like we are moving anywhere outside of the crisis, instead we are falling more and more deeply. Not the best place to live I am afraid, but there are worse.

Well that is sad news about Croatia.

Follow this link to see some pellets that H&N recommends for lower powered CO2 pistols
http://www.hn-sport.de/en/products/air-rifle-pellets/leisure-plinking-co2-pistols.html

In JSB these might be worth a try. JSB EXACT Express. They are a light domed pellet

Also here is a list of pellets indexed by weight

I own the Umarex Colt, Beretta and CP99.
I have found that in all of them the RWS Hobbies work very well.
Firstly, it seems that Umarex, like most manufacturers quote their velocity with lighter pellets.
For example, Umarex claims the Colt is capable of 425fps. With 7.0g Hobbies I get a chronied spread (with fresh cartridge) of about 405 to a high of 435fps second, so their claim of 425 is about right.
With a heavier 8g pellet the spread drops to about 360-395fps.
As well, most of the Umarex pistols will give about 50-60 really strong shots on a cartridge...lots of fallout (like down to about 300fps second or less) after 60 shots.

What are your experiences with pointed pellets? I really dont want flats ones and I didnt see RWS makes doomed / round ones.

Also, what about Crosman Field Hunting? Would it work?
