Thoughts are sent every day from me.

Remember not to sacrifice these freedoms for temporary safety. You will get freedoms nor safety.

I'd rather not have the social security than lose the things those men fought for.

Well to be honest I don't think that how the world turned out today is what those men fought for. Or what some men still fight for.

Has it ever been?

Some people think we're enlightened. Accepting we're not is the first step towards some form of improvement I think. But then again, who is gonna accept he's wrong when he thinks he's right?

Things used to be more simple. Some order would tell you what was wrong and right, and I think people generally need that. After all, most of the time we don't want to think about EVERYTHING to much like we are now. We're getting pounded with information and I bet that isn't healthy at all.

With the trust in applied order fallin apart, on both sides of the ocean, because of for instance a failing economy, things start to look a bit more like an anarchy where everyone just has to grab what he thinks he/she needs, leaving no room for the weaker.

There really is no need for any of this.

Humans made it this far with nothing but spears and flint knives. What difference does it really make as long as we gather food and reproduce?

Because there's more to life then gathering food and reproducing.

What has one truly accomplished then? What are you really working for? Why an education?

All to make getting food and making babies easier.

Slow down and live life. We're all going to the graveyard.

That's to simple I think. Simply "living life"? I think theres a lot more to it then doing it simply, as you have to work hard, rely on others, put a bit of effort here, get a bit of other peoples effort there. If everything just bottles down to getting food and making babies then what the hell do I study art for?

Art has no real function. It doesn't even have to be there to distract you from your daily worries. Most art goes unnoticed and doesn't sell. We create stuff to be more then gathering breeders, not just to survive.

So isn't it kind of the same with life? Is there more to it but do we let it go unnoticed and rather forget about it?

And to get back to the starting subject, isn't that what people worked, or even died for, for more then gathering food and reproducing? For something beyond that?

The way I see it, we have time for art because we are smart enough to invent things to make "living life" easier.

Instead of fending off the wolves, we now have free time to waste.
