| You're likely going to have to look at some sort of custom-wound spring- the stock springs and the Maccari springs are the only decent units out there, but won't match your criteria. |

What specific results are you trying to obtain with the desired spring, that an OEM can't provide? |

By using a spring with less pre-load and a stiffer wire, you would not necessarily get more power, perhaps less recoil (or more, depending on how much pre-load is eliminated).
The Quest .77 and .22 rifles on this platform use the same spring, going to .22 is going to lower your velocity and there's no way around this- the platform isn't capable of keeping the same velocity as it achieves using a 8gr .177 pellet with a 14gr .22 pellet, period- there isn't enough tube/air displacement- no matter what spring you use. Unless you have a "detuned" .177 for somewhere like Canada, the parts are the same in the .177 and .22.
As for the Maccari vs. stock spring from Crosman these days, there is virtually no difference- compared to the older Quest springs up until about 3 years ago, the Maccari unit had a bit more pre-load and allowed for a 3-5% power increase over the stock spring. |

A stiffer spring & less pre load...easy
Macari Taraluta spring & trim/shorten the
rear plastic spacer block to give the preload yer want.
it will be a slightly loser fit on the stanard guides..bit twangy so
use spring tar
the standard BAM B19 "crosman" spring is 33 coils x 3mm wire
Macari Taraluta spring is 33 coils x 3.2mm wire , stack length of 105.6mm
Macari E3650 spring is 33 coils x 3mm wire , stack length of 99mm
If you are after more power...a stiffer spring with less pre load will be the same as the standard spring / pre-load set up.....
Use the Taraluta spring with standard pre-load....
The Crosman...
Quest
Phantom
Storm
G1
Remington Summit
Are ALL Bam B19s with diffrent stocks/sites |

They are the same platform. You can order a barrel from Crosman and it will install on your Phantom without issues. |

thanks for the fast reply eric , now from your personal experince is this a bad idea because the gun is set up for .177 would that make it a fairly week .22 ? |

| Same parts internally- there will be no difference. The .22 shoots a couple hundred FPS slower due to the weight of the pellet, but this is true if you ordered a .22 straight from the factory. |
