Howdy guys, first post and have questions.

I've got a Crosman 357-6 from the late 1980's, shot the heck out of it as a teen and I'd like to repair it and use it some more (can't shoot my powder burners at home but I have lots of space for airgun plinking).

I've been unable to contact Crosman by email or phone, though I've only tried once (each). Contact form wouldn't send on the web, and I just got a fast busy on the phone.

Biggest problem is the rear seal in the valve is coming apart, its the softish white rubber or something, not hard like UHM plastic. Also need a little pin bushing for the trigger bits, but I could make one out of brass in a pinch. So lacking factory parts, I'm wondering if I can use an O-ring for the seal? Any other good ideas out there?

Thanks!

Most of the 357 internals over the different versions on changed slightly. The valve seal in question is, however, still available, even though it is not used in newer versions: 357-041

Thank you Eric, the diagram I'd downloaded a couple years ago had no parts list with it.

Called Crosman again, this time got an answer and ordered the parts. Looks like I'm just too much of an early bird Mr. Green

I know its an old thread, I recently acquired an old Crosman 357, will post pics soon, and had a bad CO2 seal.

By using an old tire of a road bike or MTB and cut a piece similar to the seal. If Kevlar then much better, once you have the proper fitting and thickness then submerge or soak in oil for a while.

Works pretty well, at least for now while I buy a proper seal if needed. It took me two CO2 bottle until I had a good seal. The key is when making the hole for the needle to stick through, from the bottom up make it on an angle and have it that barely the needle can be seen. Test fit with empty CO2 cartridges until it find a good fit. The tip of the bottle will expand the kevlar rubber and create a good seal. Spent this morning shooting around 80 to 90 rounds on one cartridge. It had a very good puncture and never leaked, oil the tip to prevent the metal from chewing on the kevlar.
