Haven't been posting alot lately, really hustling on estate sale and move. Found out bank has started foreclosure proceedings. So that's #1 priority right now.
I have though, when I'm not exhuasted from packing and such, kept up reading the forums. When I seen Joe's latest project, that double gas tube pistol, I noted that I really liked the pistol grip. I'd really like one like that on my kt. But since that's not a priority right now, I just didn't ask.
But that got me to thinking... After discussing gas tubes with bob and making sure that the tube on my 2300 wasn't stamped, I'm confident that when I swap the valve out of my discovery for a discovery "Boss" valve, I'd then use the discovery stock valve in the 2300.
To do so I'd have to drill a few extra holes in the gas tube to mount it. No bigge really. But then I noteced that B&A carry custom sized tubes. I emailed them and asked about getting one for the 2300kt. Ron there told me no biggie, just need to know the size. And they would also provide the refill plug/adpater as well. After he answered this, I realized that if this was a stock discovery tube they were cutting down I'd still have a hole in the tube where the pressure gauge goes.
Again this didn't seem like a problem. I'd just get the block and a gauge for it. (Would like a recommend for a better guage though..) All seemed well until I seen that grip on Joe's pistol. I started picturing what this would all look like when it dawned on me, I'd have that guage hanging out with no protection...and rather ugly looking because it's not buried into some sort of stock.
The simplest solution is... How can I either make or buy a fore grip stock in synthetic material so it'd match the grips that I like so much?
Or, Is there a way to move the guage block further forward or something?
I know some are going to ask, so I might was well explain now. The reason I'm want to go with a larger gas tube is for extra shooting. While I am going to be using the discovery valve, about the only other mod I'll be doing is using the stock discovery hammer spring, since I'll be replacing the discovery hammer spring with a heavier one per some of Bob's suggestions.
To all this I'll be adding one of those folding stock with hammer spring adjuster adapters Joe makes, one of his screw/shim kits, tko muzzle break and trigger. Then finally find a good replacement for the POS gamo scope I have on it right now. End result will be a small "carbine" sized pistol/rifle I can toss in a back pack.

I used a foregrip from a 2289 pumper and drilled a big hole in it for the gauge on one of my guns.... had to fabricate custom mounts tho....

| I'll keep that in mind bob. I'm curious, didn't you also suggest a different guage for your 2260 disco wannabe? |

I got some Dwyer SGC series gauges in 2000 and 3000 psi.... the 2000s worked great, the 3000s had the dials shake loose and rotate....

| Too bad nobody makes a nice digital one! <sigh> I was hoping you'd give the 3000psi one a better review. I'd use the stock one from the disco on the 2300 and swap out the disco, filling to around 2400-2500 psi. If I do recall that's what you said the safety is around. |
