I ended up with a little time to do some target practice last week but when I was done, I noticed the seal at the barrel break had a little crack in it. I tried to look around to find what to do to replace it but was not very successful. Any recommendations for fixing this on a Benjamin Trail NP XL? I'll attach the best picture I could muster since my phone camera does not have a macro setting.
(Crack is at about 4 o clock / southeast section of the seal)
Thanks in advance for any info. |

Carefully pull the seal out without damaging it any further and turn it over. Should last for a while till you find a replacement.

Call Crosman- the rifle is still under warranty- it would be in their best interest to just send you another seal than have you send the whole rifle back to them I would think.

Thanks Eric. Ended up emailing crosman and apparently they were out of seals but the CSR that helped me out got one that a project manager had in their desk. Only thing that stuck out to me was that the new seal looks like a different material than the original. Are the seals usually clear/translucent? Also, any recommendations for how to remove the old one best?

The Benjamin Trails are made in China currently. Crosman does QC them, but the Chinese seem to change things at will for no reason sometimes. I got a batch of piston seals that are essentially clear- and I had never seen this before- usually they were white, off-white or yellow-ish, never clear. There is likely nothing wrong with this- but I have no idea what's what in respect to the color changes.
