| Hi all, I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks. Looks like some good people and a lot of good info on this forum. I'm 51 years old and shot my first air gun when I was about 10. It was a multi-pump .22 cal. that my dad bought at Sears before I was born. I'm not sure of the brand but I think it was a Benjamin. My sister still has it and shoots nuisance squirrels around her house. Pretty amazing that it still shoots well since I am 100% positive it has never been torn down. If anybody is interested I can get more info on this gun. My shooting buddy when I was a kid had a .177 Crosman 760 so I knew I had something special since mine was all wood, bigger and a lot more accurate. My buddy used to blame his POS gun but I think the shooter had a lot to do with it because I could out shoot him even when we traded rifles LOL. Anyways, it’s been several years since I've been interested but I recently got the bug again and a few months ago a bought a POS Daisy Powerline and quickly got tired of it. Our local Big 5 sporting goods store had Crosman Quest 1000's on sale for $75 so I couldn't resist getting one. I picked up a Tasco Scope at Wally World that is supposed to be air gun rated. So far everything is working great. I know there are much better guns out there but so far this one is floating my boat for just plinking around. I do have a GTX trigger on order. I’ll sign off now sorry for the long post. |

Hey John welcome to the site. Didn't ypur quest come with a scope? I could have sworn they did. Anyway, I have a storm which is similar to the quest in a lot of ways. Ifr I remember right, the only difference is the wood in the stock and the scope.
Anyway, welcome and I hope you have fun! |

Nope didn't come with scope. I think thats why it was only $75. They tried to sell me the one with the scope for a good bit more, whenever that happens I figure I'm not getting a good deal any more. ha. The Tasco scope I got is cheap but I think it is better than the one packaged with the combo deal. |
