Goto page 1, 2  Next    View previous topic :: View next topic  Well guys...   Posted: Mon Jun 28, 2010 9:40 am broommaster2000 Moderator Joined: 10 Mar 2007 Posts: 5714 Location: City of Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands I PASSED! 2 weeks ago I had to turn in my assignment (A short animated film) on which my school bases it's verdict: Passed or Failed. If I failed, I would have to try again in September and my mom 'n dad for instance wouldn't like that. Not. One. Bit. (They pay for my education, so who can blame them. I don't.) Well, I initially failed because I came up with three out of 10 scenes (or so). I did explain I wasn't gonna make it in advance, as: A: I got a concentration problem. Sometimes I can't concentrate for weeks because of some silly reason and meds don't work. B: I got really ill for a couple of days before the deadline (a big fat migraine) Thus I bargained another two weeks. They said, of course: "We don't think you'll be able to do this assignment in two weeks, based on the amount of work you have done on your assignment". I said: "I can do it, just give me those two weeks, and I'll make it." The last pair of weeks were hectic, and I finished 2 minutes before the deadline (today, 12:30). But I presented and turned in my assignment today and against all odds I PASSED! This means, in other words, that I did an 10-8 week project in two weeks. Which probably shows, I got bags under my eyes and feel like crap. I hope I can say the same thing in 5 weeks when I am done with my second summer session classes. Even if your crushed right now....you still be a pimp... Good job on the studies,and your passing grade....sounds like it's time to decompress,and let it rip.... Now I got a good base for a good Art College and I got a good portfolio. Just hope the government won't cut back on student funding. Meaning I'm applying for one or two good schools next year. First I'm gonna kick back and do some low-profile work just to get my mind on things. I'm not that good with cars. Bicycles, however, are another story. As we speak I'm working on a "town" bike that now has parts from 7 other junked bikes. It was a 15-speed "road" bike, but I rather like planetary hubs for around town. So, I laced a Sturmey-Archer AW (3 speed) hub to the 27" rims. Except I discovered the frame didn't have the elongated rear dropouts to set chain tension. I threw the derailleur back on just to keep the chain tight, and then thought, as long as I have the derailleur, why not put the double chain rings back on? Then it looked like there was space at the hub for another sprocket, so I cobbled together a double sprocket to fit the AW hub. Then came the mudguards made from PVC pipe. Recently I came across a couple of junked bikes with brake levers suitable for airgun butt hooks.
