hi, bought a crosman storm a few months ago but it was terribly innacurate.even after a couple 500 round tins of premier hollow points. but i also tried other pellets through it to.the thing was just horrible. so i exchanged it. the new one shoots dime sized groups at 20 yards. these are 5 shot groups off my knee. im very happy wiith that. however, heres the problem. in order to use the stock sights the rear sight has to be elevated all the way up at 20 yards. so if i did want to shoot at 50-70 yards i believe it would be almost impossible.i havent tried shooting those distances yet. have not had a chance to get out someplace where i could shoot that far safely.
i have been thinking on putting on a taller front sight.i am a firearms collector and i have a few front sights that would possibly fit that are a tad bit taller than the original. i was thinking on that. i know i could use the scope. but this is going to be my drag through the bush squirrel gun and my eyes are still fine for longer range shooting and i would preffer the ability to use the stock sights.less getting tangled in the tangled woods around here.any advice?

| would not a higher front blade bring down p.o.i ? you need too shorten front blade to raise impact. |

Unless you want to alter the plane of the barrel, which may not be on the same plane of the receiver/spring tube, shimming the rear OEM sight or substituting a "taller" sight would probably be the easier fix. |

That is correct. To move the point of impact up the rear sight must be raised or the front sight lowered.
Maybe super glue or solder a plate to the rear sight with a new notch that sits higher?
Maybe get a different rear sight that clamps on the scope dovetail?

Maybe fashion a muzzle brake with a simple adjustable pin for the front sight?

| You can also use a old Elmer Kieth trick an place line's(paint) on front blade to indicate distant hold over(work's well on my pistol's)you just raise front blade up in notch till you have the right hold over. |

thanks for the relies. yea i have that wrong, if i put a taller front sight on it would lower the point of aim. my bad. got confused for a moment there.i ended up just mounting the scope on it.just have to be careful vines and twigs dont get tangled up on it is all. i guess i could file down the front sight if i wanted. but i think ill just deal with the scope. thanks again.
