I am more of a modern arms shooter. Although I love taking my air rifle out and putting some rounds down range in the back yard. I am one of those people that likes to know what they are shooting. I have an old TyROL (spelled that way with the casing). Very heavy, about 8 pounds. Quite long, over all length of about 50 inches. Break barrel .177 caliber. I can not find any information on this rifle except that Tyrol is a small city in Austria and that a similar brand stamp was used on some Co2 Mauser trainers. If anyone can give me some information on the rifle and/or the history of the TyROL manufacturer it would be greatly appreciated. The only odd thing is that by all found recorded accounts, TyROL seemed to only make Co2 rifles, not a break barrel sharp shooter with a rather advanced peep sight. If I were in your position I would go one of two ways - either pay the $10.00 for a 24-hour online subscription, or go down to the public library and ask a librarian to find it via interlibrary loan (for free). No one seems to have a very clear idea on the history of the manufacturer on this side of the ocean. Some of the things I would like to know are things like: Number made? Around what year was it made? Is there a (English) manual anywhere? Is there a break down diagram for extensive cleaning/maintenance? Is there any way to repair it if something breaks? Value of the rifle? Is there anyway to take out the travel within the trigger? These are some of the questions I would love answered.
