Local Wal-Mart now has the new Nitro-piston "GP" model air rifle...sorry,I forgot the name! Embarassed

It comes in clear hard plastic case and from what I can see of it, is pretty cheesy looking...has thumbhole stock like a "real" npss,but sure looks cheap..so does the scope....Claims 800fps with lead pellets..retail's for $149.95, wish I could remember the name of the dang thing Good NEWS is that they've got the StormXT (with scope) close-out priced @ $89.95...save $20.00 on that, in case you've been wanting one...just passing on news Laughing

Wally world around here hasn't sold guns/ammo in about 20 years.

Wally World is either the largest, or second-largest customer of Crosman- so they make "special" models for them- i.e. alot of "cheaped out" versions of things. Strikes me as a very bad idea to try and flog "NPSS" on the one hand at $300-ish dollars and then have a crappy big-box version that may very well give the whole line a bad name at half the price. That's OK with a Crosman 760 compared to a Benjamin 392- the difference is obvious, but once they start flogging that the gas-ram piston is something "new and wonderful" and tie it up in a Wal-Mart box, I think something's been lost- especially when they've only been producing them for a year- maybe if they'd waited for the NPSS idea to really catch on (if it ever did/does) and then done it...

I've read on 'burner forums that Wally world is usually out of ammo in the areas you would expect them to stock it. For some reason they just don't order it to restock.

We've got leftwing nut laws here, if something has the name "school" in it's title no buisness is allowed to sell any fire arms of any time within 1 mile of it's doors. So, walmart, kmart, target, ect...nobody can sell any poweder burners. And most are limiting the ag's they sell, because of limts on fps ratings.

I checked my local wally world the other day for airguns. The selection was dismal at best. A couple "kids" guns, and a really poor selection of pellets and targets.

Dick's Sporting Goods had an NPSS for sale, but since I already had the Remington I didn't look any closer. I did pick up a Crosman 1377 though. Damn impulse buying!

Doesn't New Jersey have a ban on airguns? They've got to be worse than my nanny state of Maryland.

its called crosman titan gp. the walmart here has them for 149.00 with wood thumbhole stock. i bought my crosman storm from walmarts.no complaints here. great gun. kaz

Yea, the Local W-M's in my neck of the Woods area (Shenandoah Valley, Virginia USA) have 'em. First I'd heard of the "Titan GP" was on the shelf, not in Crosman's catalog (and I haven't exactly been surfing the break-barrel section of the web site, either).

After about 400 rounds I did a chrono test:
Low: 743
High: 754
Aver.: 749
Spread: 11
Mean Deviation: 3

Pellet used: Crosman Premier Hollow Point Hunting @ 13.9gr

It takes a good palm smack to break the barrel prior to cocking it.
The effort to cock it measured 46 lbs. on my bathroom scale.

Five shot groups at 10 meters, (Scope setup), measured 3/8" to 1" depending on how the gun is held. Allowing the forearm to rest lightly in the palm the 8.8 lb gross weight can be steadied so the groups are better than using a gun bench vice.
