What is "droop"? Also how tight should the barrel be attached to the rest of the air rifle? Thanks, very new and wanting to learn.

Welcome aboard!

Apparently, it is quite hard to find info about this even though this question has been asked before.

It basically means that your barrel hangs lower then you can adjust your scope.

Droop is when the axis of the barrel is not parallel to the axis of the compression tube - it droops down a little.

I'm guessing you mean how tight should the barrel pivot screw be on a break-barrel gun. In the "Beeman Precision Airgun Guide," Edition #22, p. 54, it says: "The correct tension is the point where the barrel will just stay anywhere on the return arc after cocking."

Thanks guys. I am OK on the droop then but the barrel just drops down from its oun weight. Needs to be tightened. Thanks again for the advise.

If the barrel droops down under its own weight when fully locked, then you may have a serious problem.

That would likely mean your lockup mechanism is not functioning properly. Which would be a serious issue if it did not keep the barrel locked during firing.
